I lied on the bottom bunk of my bed. I was bored and in agony. I dreaded every moment I spent here in this house, let alone this town.
My brother Harry was at Hogwarts right now, he'd never come home for the holidays. I don't blame him. It sucks here at the Dursley's. I just wish he'd at the least come home for me. I'm so miserable and lonely. At least he's coming back in a few days for the summer.
I always wondered why I never got an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. It was no fair to me. Harry & I aren't that different.
I heard a knock at the window. I sat up and saw an owl sitting on the sill. I stood up and walked over to the window, grabbed the latch gently and opened it. The owl sat there waiting for me to get the letter out it's beak. I gently grabbed it as the owl flew away, off into the sunset.
I sat at the desk and carefully opened the letter. I already knew it was from Harry. He writes to me very often, tells me any drama that goes on, what his friends are like, and how much he wishes I was there. But he's always complaining about some guy named Malfoy.
I'm so jealous of Harry though; I want to go to Hogwarts. I hate my school. The kids here suck. I have no friends.
I opened the letter carefully:
Dear Evangeline,
I miss you. I hope things aren't as bad as they usually are. I still don't understand why you haven't gotten an acceptance letter, so today; I will talk to our headmaster, Dumbledore.
I'll make sure you'll get to go to Hogwarts.
Sincerely,
Your annoying brother;
Harry Potter
I folded the letter back up. I was excited in a sense, but it couldn't have been a mistake. It's been years.
