Draco and Eva haven't talked for three days. Eva felt so alone, so helpless. All she wanted to do was help Draco and be there for him, but he doesn't want that, so it makes her feel useless.
She was miserable by herself. The situation with her brother is stressful enough, she thought she had Draco on her side, but she realizes he needs someone on his side.
Evangeline walked through the hallway on her way to lunch when she was stopped by Professor Slughorn. "Evangeline Potter!"
"Yes, professor?"
"I've been meaning to give this to you." He handed her an envelope.
She opened it as she continued walking into the great hall.
Evangeline Potter,
You have been invited to the Slug Club's New Years Party! It will take place 10:00 pm, 31st December, 1996. You are allowed to bring a plus one!

She was surprised that she was invited to Slug Club. Members were only selected specially by Professor Slughorn. He chose favorites and everybody knew about it. Maybe it'd be a good place to make other friends.
