Polar Opposites (Draco Malfoy)

It was the day Harry would come back from Hogwarts for the summer. I was excited. The Dursley's were not, obviously.

Right now, they were making me do the dishes. It was my least favorite chore, which is why they always make me do it.

I placed the last plate into the dish rack, right as the front door opened. I rushed over there to see Harry holding onto a suitcase. He immediately embraced me into a hug.

Mr. Dursley came over to us, "Have you finished your chores, Evangeline?" I turned around to see him with his arms folded as his round purple face was scolding me. His eyebrows were furrowed and his expression was full of annoyance.

"Yes." I answered.

"Both of you go on up to your room." He demanded.

Harry & I rushed up the stairs into our bedroom. Harry was the last one in, he shut the door behind him as he placed his suitcase next to the doorframe with a sigh.

I was sitting on my bed, eagerly waiting for him to tell me how the conversation with the Hogwarts headmaster went. "You said you were going to talk to your headmaster?" I brought up, assuming Harry had forgotten.

The expression on Harry's face made my heart drop, it had to have been something bad. "Everyone thinks you're dead." He spoke quickly.

I said nothing. I raised my eyebrows a little bit, processing what he just told me. He had to be lying.

Harry sat down next to me on my bed, "Everyone thinks Voldemort killed you."

I shook my head slightly in disbelief, "That's bullshit." I laughed a little bit. I was in such shock. I adjusted my sitting position a little, facing more towards Harry, "He gave me the same exact scar as you, except on my collarbone."

"Well, Vernon and Petunia may or may not have told them that you were dead."

I rolled my eyes in irritation, "Of course they did." My voice had lowered.

"It doesn't matter now though." He said, "I told them that you're not. You're going to get an acceptance letter."

I smiled. I hopped off the bed and I wrapped my arms around his neck, "Thank you."
