Draco was afraid of who Evangeline would tell.
She knows.
She knows.
How the hell does she know?
He's done everything he could to keep a low profile and she knows. His anxiety was getting the best of him, so he isolated himself. He didn't want to talk to his friends. He ignored Crabbe & Goyle, and when they spoke to him, he'd blow them off.
He sat alone in his room, thinking.
Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock.
Draco got up from his bed and opened the door to his dormitory. Evangeline stood below him, holding onto folded clothes. "Hey." She smiled, awkwardly.
"What do you want?" He said with bitterness.
"Well, I'm returning your clothes. I washed them. They're clean." She held them up.
He looked at them and gently took them from her, "Thanks." He was about to shut the door, but Evangeline put her hand on the door to stop it.
"Wait." She said.
"What do you want?"
She sighed, "To talk."
He rolled his eyes, "Come in."
She entered the empty, quiet dormitory. "What's going on?"
"None of your business is what." He retorted, shutting the door.
"Draco. I already know anyway. Why not talk to me about it? It's clearly stressing you out."
"Why do you care so much?!"
"We're friends, Draco! That's what friends do! We care! We're here for you to talk to! Would you really rather talk to someone's who's dead instead of alive?"
"Yeah. She's got no friends to blab to."
"Well just for your information she blabbed to me the fact you go in there often to cry."
"That stupid Ravenclaw."
Eva said nothing.
"Who have you told?" He wondered.
"Nobody. Literally none of my friends are at Hogwarts right now except for you."
"So who do you plan on telling?"
"Nobody."
"What about your brother?"
"You know how I feel about him! And just so you know, he's the one who told me. I didn't believe him at first." She folded her arms.
He breathed heavily.
"You can talk to me, Draco." She tried reassuring him, "You can trust me."
"How am I supposed to know that you won't go blabbing your mouth to Dumbledore?"
"Well for one, Dumbledore is the idiotic bloke who didn't even know I was alive. Secondly, I don't know that you can know. That's what trust is all about. You trusting that I won't."
Draco didn't say a word.
"Who do you have to kill?" She asked.
"Get out, Eva."
The girl sighed, "Fine. I'm not gonna force you, but if you do want someone to talk to, I'm here Draco. I just want you to know that."
He didn't even bother to look at her, he just stared at the carpet. She left the dorm room, shutting the door behind her. Tears began to fall from his face. He lifted his arm to muffle his cries coming from his mouth. He's scared.
