Dream smiled as he moved a branch to the side. Walking past it and glancing around for a moment. Thinking as he was trying to find this place he found the other day.

He then glanced back to make sure Gaster was keeping up. He insisted that his father see the place. So Gaster agreed to come along.

Gaster smiled as he walked. Listening to the snow as it crunched under their feet. Humming as he moved a branch out if the way and continued to walk forward. Glancing around as the trees as they walked past two trees that have twisted and grown together in a sort of pretzel twist.

As they walked they've been making small comments. Though Dream did mention one thing. "So Dream. Your mother got turned into a tree?" The tall dark skeleton questioned. Looking down at the yellow skeleton as he thought about what he was told.

Dream nodded a little. Almost forgetting that he had made a comment about that a while ago into their walk. "Yeah... before me and Night were the guards of the tree of feelings. It was our moms job to protect the tree."

Gaster nodded a little as he listened. 'So the twins inherited the job after their mother passed away.' He thought to himself as they continued to walk. 'Maked sense. It also explains more as to why they were protecting the tree.'

He never forced the twins to talk much about their past before they became his sons. If they want to tell him anything then he wants them to be comfortable about telling him. Not feel like they are forced to tell him. It is their choice after all.

"That was until the day she was attacked... it was a bad day for mom... we never figured out who it was that attacked mom. But the day they attacked her was also the day me and Night were born."

Gaster blinked and stared and him upon hearing that. 'Dream and Night were born the day their mom turned into the tree? I thought that they had been born some time before... well that is my old theory thrown out the window.' He blinked and moved some branches out of his way. "So you and Night were born not long after the attack?"

"Yeah. It was like... after she was attacked and badly wounded. Infant us were like "Sorry mom. We know you were just attacked and badly injured buuuuut it's time for the two of ud to be born!"." Drean did a set of jazz hands and sighed.

"Sounds close to the situation Sans was in. Everything was fine till it wasn't." Gaster thought about it.

"So, she gave birth to us and then not long after her soul and body phased into the tree and she became a part of the tree itself. So, while mom wasn't completely dead dead..." he stopped for a moment. Rubbing his arm as he stared down at the snow.

Gaster walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder. "While she did not have much of a way to communicate or physically interact with you. She was still there by your side. Even if there was not much she could do." He smiled a little and moved a log out of the way. as it was on top of another log  blocking their path.

"Yeah! Exactly! While she couldn't do much. She was able to move the tree branches. To keep most of the rain off of us. Try her best to keep us warm with the roots. Just trying her beat to do what she could while in the tree." Dream smiled a little as he thought back on everything. Climbing over the log and walking for a few steps.

Only to look down again and frown as another memory came to mind. "Then I just had to be a stupid idiot. I left Mom and Night alone! I left them alone and those villagers decided to attack my brother, leave that massive hole in hos head, and not only chop the tree of feelings down but also killed mom in the process!" Dream shook a little. A few tears forming in the corners of his sockets. Thinking about how if he hadn't managed to stumble back to the tree, his brother would've died, and he would be alone with the village.
