Somethings Changed

Dream thought as he looked up at his brother. Watching as he was floating in the clean blue liquid. The machine confused Dream no matter how much the others tried to explain it.

Everyone has been nice to him and his brother. Making sure that the two of them are going to be okay and healthy. It was odd, especially after what happened to him and Nightmare before all of this.

They've been staying in the Core together. Each of the scientists leaving at a certain time everyday and returning at a specific time in the morning. Almost each of them taking a turn keeping an eye on him. Though they say there mostly watching Nightmare and his stats.

'What are stats?' His mind wandered as he glanced down at his feet for a second. It's only been a month since the two of them were freed from the stone. At least that what they've told him. Showing Dream a calendar.

When they realized he didn't know how a calendar worked or what it even was Muhammad and Cypress happily taught him. Once the others got word that me and Nightmare weren't exactly well educated.

Everyone was happily taking the time to teach him something important. At least they say that it's important information that he should know. One things for sure, he was glad that he could slightly understand Gaster a little better.

The tall skeleton was teaching him about sign language. Telling Dream that he was a natural when Gaster noticed thet Dream was easily picking up the language. It was a little odd learning to talk in hands.

Though it was a massive headache learning all these different things at once. Everyone so far was teaching him something different. Aside from teaching Dream about the calendar, how it worked, and what sign language is and how it worked. Their were other things that they were teaching him.

Like what Alphys was teaching him. She showed his books that looked familiar except the language was unknown. Alphys then explained to Dream that was the new language everyone was using now a days, so he had to learn a new alphabet and relearn how to read everything.

Gothic and Gabriel took time out of their day to help him learn about some of the technology. Like those weird lights. Apparently they light up the room using a thing called a lightbulb. They would also answer any other questions he had about the odd technology that they had/used.

It was pretty helpful. Then during lunch Hazel would stop by to see if Nightmare and him were okay. She even took a few minutes to teach him a few simple cooking tips.

Then there was Sans... he wasn't exactly teaching the skeleton anything. Though he was reading stories to them. Before everyone left the lab and the lights went dim he would lightly nudge Dream into a bed in the next room over.

Then tucked him under the sheets, making sure he was always in the bed that was at the right angle so when he shifted his gaze slightly, he could see the tank his brother was floating in.

Then he would sit on the floor between Dream and the hallway. A book on his lap and eye lights glowing in the room once it became dark. His blue and yellow lights in his head acting like a make shift candle.

Then before Dream knew it Sans was reading the story outloud. He was even making a few silly voices for some of the characters and happily smiled as he read away.

He did that every night for the past month. Bringing in a different book almost everyday. A few times he wouldn't even lightly push him to a bed. Simple placing a blanket on top of his shoulders and reading the book outloud in front of his brother.
