🍕Sam🍕
Whenever Sam gets upset, it's like looking at a sad puppy. He just becomes so deflated and melancholy, seemingly uninterested in what's going on. You don't see it very often, but when it does, you've found a few methods that work for various situations.

When he gets upset due to family reasons, letting him vent is usually the best answer. You'll invite him to your farm for a bit and let Vivi lay on or near him and listen to him talk. You let him talk for as long as he needs to get all the negativity out, and you just listen, chiming in when needed.

When it comes to Mayor Lewis, it's almost always about his skateboarding. You and Robin set up an obstacle course on corner of the farm that you can change however you want so Sam can bring his skateboard and skate to his hearts content until his mood is bright again. You know he's feeling better when he comes into your home, where you always have a fresh pizza waiting for him.

A fight with his friends? Taking him to the beach or lake does the trick. You pack pizza, maple bars, and cactus fruits (the only healthy thing you can really get him to eat) and make a date of it. By the end of it, his head is usually clear and he's ready to makeup with his friends again, but not until he finishes with you.

All and all, you listen to him when something is wrong and he just needs someone to lean on. Sometimes he just needs to be alone and you provide that to him. He doesn't snap on you anymore, he gently tells you why he needs to be alone and will call you as soon as he is in dire need of your attention.

🏈Alex🏈
Alex has his moments of weakness, but you usually see the signs coming. Either it's sadness about his mom, anger at his father, or frustration with his sports career.

With his mom, you hold him close to you and let him cry into your shoulder while listening to her music box. No words are needed between you two at the time, there is an understanding.

With his dad, you go with him to the train tracks and let him take out anger on the debris there. Using your pickaxe to break down the rocks, crushing the wayward pieces of wood, throwing items at the cliff face, anything to get that aggression out. Afterwards you two would usually go to the bath house together to unwind. Alex always feels fresh and better afterwards.

It's pretty easy to see the frustration in Alex's eyes when it comes to sports. Whether you two are watching a game or he's holding his gridball close. All you can do is re-assure him that his time will come and just be there for him, it's one of the times you're open to doing whatever he wants. Sometimes it's just throwing the ball around with him, sometimes it's spending alone time together at the farm.

You support Alex through the highs and lows of his mood, opening yourself up more to do whatever it takes to get your smiling jock back, even if you're embarrassed the next morning.

✈️Harvey✈️
It's generally rare to see Harvey upset. You only see him get very upset when he looks up at planes passing by. The fact that he'll never see himself in the cockpit of a plane bothers him more than anyone realizes. It was a dream he's had since he was a child, but his eyesight and fear of heights prevents him from doing so. Once you had a made a plan with with Vincent and Jas to play airline where Harvey got to play the pilot and that seemed to work. You've never seen such joy on his face, even if he only got to pretend, and Vincent and Jas seemed to have fun too. Now Harvey will openly ask you if you three would want to play again, to have that small view into the world he loves.

When he's just not in the mood or Vincent and Jas have classes with Penny, you just keep him company. You hang out with him in the clinic or in his room where you're able to distract him by asking about his different plane models and let him get lost in the information. It also seems to be therapeutic for him. He may not even fly a plane, but still having the knowledge of different planes and being able to talk to some over his old CV brings him a sense of peace.

Harvey sometimes needs distraction from life, and you're always more than happy to provide that for him.

🐸Sebastian🐸
Sebastian was almost always upset for one reason or another, and he can cope very well on his own, but when it comes to his mom and step-dad, that's when he needed you.

Luckily, you know knew how take care of that. Everytime Sebastian had an argument with one parent, or both, he would come over to spend the night at your house. He even had a designated drawer in your dresser for his own clothes. It would happen the same way everytime: Sebastian would barge in and go straight to the bathroom to shower, you would either watch him go yourself or find evidence of him whenever you got home, you'd make food for both of you, and spend the rest if the night with him. If he was feeling open to it, Seb would tell you about what happened, but otherwise you would simply provide him with company. On rainy days you might go out and see if you could find any frogs, one of his favorite things about you living on a farm with two seperate ponds teeming with life...and trash.

It's a simple life you had created for yourselves. Though you feel bad that this only happens when Sebastian is upset, you can at least enjoy that he trusts you enough to show you that side of him and he doesn't just shut you out so easily.

📖Elliot📖
Elliot got frustrated with his writing very easily. His novel was doing decently well and he was inspired to start writing again, but he didn't have an idea on what to write about. You could see in his eyes he was cranky.

You did all you could to soothe his nerves. You'd make him some tea with just a dash of alcohol on it, make him some of his favorite seafood chowder, or would just read to him, letting the soothing sound of your voice wash his stress away. It didn't matter what you read, it could be the dictionary for all he cared. When you spoke, nothing else in the world mattered to him, not the itch to write, not the increasingly growing stack of bills, and not even the crabs that snuck into his cabin.

Taking care of an upset Elliot is easy for you. Anytime Willy or Leah sense his distress, they get you immediately.

🐔Shane🐔
You have become a master of caring for an upset Shane. Only Jas and maybe Marnie could compete with you. Whether it was alcohol withdrawals, an emotionally draining therapy session, or just a crappy shift at Joja Mart, you always knew exactly what to do.

When you can see Shane getting the shakes for alcohol or see him gazing longingly at the Saloon, you smack him. Not a hard slap, but enough to jolt him. Once he's done glaring at you, you drag him back to your house to provide him with his pepper poppers, letting the spiciness take over any alcohol cravings he had, and giving him either joja cola or sparkling water to quench his thirst. By then, Shane will have have forgotten about the slap and would just have his arm around you, thanking you for everything you do for him.

After some therapy sessions, Shane is just never in the mood to be with anyone, but he still wants to be near you. Your solution, was whenever he got home from therapy, you'd grab his hand and lead him to your chicken coop where he could be with the chickens while you took care of the rest of your animals. Usually by the time you tended to them all, Shane would still be holding one of the chickens, but looking much better, and giving you one of his rare and warm smiles that always made your stomach do flips.

Finally, you both had a vendetta against Joja Mart. It was cheap and Shane would always get things from there, but that didn't stop either of you from ranting about it. Shane would complain about the hours and pay, and how every moment spent in there was soul sulking. While you complained about sitting in the Joja office branch where everything was grey and lifeless, feeling like the corporation was sucking out all your life essence. These rant sessions generally happened at Gus' in one of the corner booths so as not to disrupt the other patrons as much, but if they did have anything to say about it, Emily would always come to your defense.

You are Shane's light in the dark. Without you, he'd be lost. He wouldn't know what to do with himself. If he ever lost, he's not sure how well he'd cope. Though you hope it would go OK with his therapy sessions, luckily you didn't plan on leaving him anytime soon.
