It's been a little over a week now since you moved onto Starlight Farm, and you already had a best friend. The ever prickly Shane. Sure, he always seemed like he was in a bad mood, but after spending nights with him at the saloon and bribing him with pizza and pepper poppers, he slowly started to warm up to you. You know he has a hard life, and you wanted to be there to help him through it! You didn't see him in a romantic light, though, nope, just a friend. And as a friend, you were stopping by Marnie's ranch to check on him. "Hello there ___. How are you today?" Marnie greeted as you walked through the door into the old farmhouse. "Hi Marnie! Just came to check on Shane, " you smiled. You liked Marnie, she helped you set up your new baby chicks and gave really helpful advice. "He already left for work, but can you bring this to him? I didn't catch him in time." She handed you a small brown bag, and by the smell, it had peppers in it. You gave her a small salute, "I'm on it, Marnie!" With that, you each said goodbye, and you began your way into town.Ever since your real first day, you'd taken a liking to using the Southwest entrance of cindersap forest. Not because you would be passing by Shane's anyway, but because you were hoping to catch a glimpse of Sam again. He was such a sweet guy and incredibly friendly. You wanted to be as close to him as you were, Shane. Alas, it seems you've missed him once again, as you saw no sign of the blonde anywhere. You haven't seen him since that day, and it was pretty disappointing.
It didn't take you long to get to the Joja Mart. It was your least favorite spot in town. It just gave you bad memories, but you endured it. Taking a step into the air-conditioned store, all you could see was rows of products as you listened to the public domain music that sounded like it was coming from a tin can. You were able to spot Shane pretty easily, restocking one of the shelves. You smiled and quickly made your way to him. "Shaaaane!" You whined once you went up to him. His eyes didn't leave his work as he answered. "I thought I said not to bother me at work." "Yea yea, I know, but Marnie sent me to give you this." You set the small brown bag down by his feet, but hidden from where his manager, Morris, would see it. Shane simply nodded and went back to his work. "You're welcoooome," you said over your shoulder as you began to walk away. As you were about to pass the next aisle, you spotted a shock of blonde hair. "Sam?" Upon closer inspection, that was definitely Sam. He had a blue joja mart jumper on and mopping the floor with headphones on. 'He works at Joja Mart? Huh, doesn't seem like something he'd do,' you thought to yourself, keeping your gaze on him. He seemed to feel your stare because suddenly he turned his head in your direction, giving you a wide smile. He frantically waved at you and started using his mop as a guitar. You couldn't help but give a small laugh at his antics, face turning a bit pink. Seeing this, Sam's smile widened, and his cheeks were dusted with pink now, too. After gaining your composure again, you waved at Sam and indicated to him that you were leaving. He waved back and mouthed something. You were just able to make out the words 'hang' and 'tomorrow' with a questionable look on his face. You smiled and nodded excitedly, leaving the store with a skip in your step.

You tore the latest page out of your sketchbook, groaning in anger and annoyance. You were in a rut with one specific portrait, Alex's. No matter how many times you re-drew him, he never came out quite right. His nose was off, or the way his hair was, the shape of his eyes, something was always wrong with it. You didn't really want to see him again after last time, but for the sake of art... you didn't have much of a choice. You sighed and put together all your drawing supplies in your backpack, ready to head into town and find your overly confident muse.It was about 10 am. Alex should still be around, but who knows with that guy. Once you got to Pierre's, though, you saw him. He was just in front of his house, leaning against a large tree with his gridball in his arm. He looked...bored.
Honestly, you didn't want to be here, but maybe there was a way to draw him without him noticing. Pulling the backpack to your front to stop it from jostling, you went down towards the saloon and hid around the corner, just next to the door. It wasn't the greatest vantage point, but this is the closest you could get without him seeing you. You kneeled down to take out your sketchbook and pencil and began. Glimpsing up every once in a while to make sure the picture was accurate. You'll give him this. He was arrogant, but man, he was handsome. His skin was tanned, probably from playing sports outdoors, his hair looked perfect, and even with his jacket on, you could tell he had toned arms. You didn't realize it, but you were staring, and Alex saw it. Of course, he saw you drawing, but you weren't paying enough attention. Naturally, he started trying to pose for you, flexing his muscles, doing his best to show off.
