Chapter 14

I can't hold my breath for very long so every minute or so I grabbed on to the sash and took a few deep breaths. My energy had finished and I was too tired to swim. Though I tried how else would we get to Poseidon fast enough.

My eyes could barely open and my muscles screamed in protest as I tried to use the scimitar. I knew if I pushed myself too much it would physically hurt me. But I had to keep going.

Pit seeing my struggles gave up his place next to dark for me and tied the sash to my waist. And the two of them dragged me along as I slipped out of consciousness into the land of dreams.

Pit's POV:

Y/N pushes herself too much. I swim at the lead and hold on to the sash to get a breather. I have to keep on swimming though its hard.

WHOOSH!

What was that I look around wildly Pittoo doing the same and I see it. I see the cause of the noise. It looked like a giant snake, but with fins. "What is that!?" I murmur in surprise and fear holding onto the sash "PIT YOU IDIOT! IT'S AN EEL!"Dark yells at me and gets out his bow I quickly do the same.

The eel is looking at Y/N who is unconscious. Wait unconscious?! Oh no.Dark shield Y/N behind him and starts shooting at it, nothings working!

I panic and pull the two towards me just as the eel snaps it's jaws shut. "Hey you!Come and get me you under water slug!" I yell desperate to save my friends. The eel swims towards me with a menacing look on its face.

I did not think this through.

The eel stops as if he knows this is a trick and turns. Just as it turns I get my sword in it's gills and since it is still moving my sword slices it open. I stare in shock. Dark comes towards me and puts the sash in my hand.

"At least you killed it."

I nod numbly and Y/N takes that moment to wake up.

With Y/N:

I know I am dreaming.I know because I see Artemis.

"y/n. Don't worry about me. I am fine." She says with that warm smile of hers.

"But you're gone!" I wail. Artemis shakes her head "I'm not. You will see me again." She calmly says and softly hugs me.

"Do you promise?

"I promise." she pulls back.

"Now go wake up." She looks at me. I shake my head "If I do you'll be gone!" I look away with an ache in my heart.

"I told you. I am always with you."

I suddenly fall into a pit of darkness with Artemis's words echoing in my head.

"I am always with you."

"with you."

"You."

My eyes snap open with a start. I see Pit and Dark looking at me in concern. "What did I miss?!" I ask quickly ashamed to have been no use.

"We killed an eel." Says Dark I open my mouth to question more but Pit beats me to it "We're almost there!" he points to a temple almost invisible in the depths of the sea.

We quickly swim there glad to arrive at last. We break through the protective bubble around the temple and step into the fresh air. "Finally." I breathe as I unwrap myself from the sash to breathe in the crisp sea air.

The two angels follow me as I make my way up the sky blue steps leading to Poseidon's temple. The doors are already open and we see Poseidon sitting in his lapis lazuli throne looking dejected. He looks at us and tries to mask his grief with a fake smile.

"Y/N! Good to see you. What brings you here?" He booms with a loud voice.

"Poseidon we need your help."

With that I explain everything to him. I tell him that I am Hades's daughter, the plan and where we are supposed to meet with the other gods.

"I would love to help you-" He says and we three look at him hopefully with big eyes.

"-But I can't. Hades killed Medusa." His eyes cloud in sadness.

Pit, Dark and I look at each other unsure of what to do. Pit takes a deep breath and speaks up. My eyes widen, he's going to say something stupid and get us kicked out! I give him a sharp look but he doesn't listen.

"Lord Poseidon. I think you should help us. The last thing Goddess Medusa ever wanted was to stop Hades's evil. Do it in her memory. Do it for her."

"Do it for Medusa." His eyes blaze and for a second he looks wise and mature, but only for a second. Dark and I look at each other dumbfounded and surprised.

Poseidon takes a shaky breath and his eyes clear. He looks at us in determination.

"I agree."

He turns to Pit "Thank you Pit. For making me see reason. I am pleasantly surprised that it came from you though." He bows his head in thanks.

I think about Medusa and realise something. "Medusa isn't dead! There can't be light without dark! If Medusa dies Lady Palutena would too!" I say with a little happiness "The world would collapse without that balance!" I turn to Poseidon.

His face looks hopeful "Of course you would know that, Y/N Goddess of Balance." with that we say our goodbyes.

"Lady Palutena, Take us back!" Yells Pit into his laurel and I see a blinding light. Once I open my eyes we are back. We tell Lady Palutena the good news and she smiles deviously at me.

What's going on....

I'm getting nervous.

"I have decided that the meeting will be held at a caffe in the human world called STARBUCKS!" She gives a little jump of excitement "And we will need to be disguised. Tomorrow is the meeting and it has come to my knowledge that humans are celebrating the new year..." She says slyly.

I know where this is going.

I try to slip away.

She turns to me.

Flip.

She grabs me.

I grab a pillar.

She pulls me.

She whispers in my ear.

"There will be dressssssessssss~~"

She grins at me and drags me to her.

I scream in terror.
