Beginning

One:

"Who are you?"

That was the first words I asked of him when we first met.

"Who are you?"

And that was the last words I asked of him when we last met.

I don't know how I end up asking the same question I ask him for the first time. It feels like, that was the only words I can say when I saw him for the last time.

Last time...

Yes, it is our last time to be together.

It hurts whenever I think of our end. But no matter what I do, no matter what I think, it will always be the end of us.

Our story begins unexpected and it ends unexpected. We really don't know each other from the beginning but I never expected I won't be able to know him even from the end.

Junior and Senior High School

Am I still dreaming or what? I silently asked myself while I keep looking up the sky that begins to shade into dark.

"What are you thinking?"

Suddenly my best friend asked me that finally stops me from doing what I am doing... or should I say I'm doing nothing and just silently asking myself rather than to voice it out.

I smile before I answered. "Nothing." I simply answered. "Well, can we go home now?"

My best friend had just finished basketball practice while I was patiently waiting for him to finish so we could go home together even though our class had already finished.

"I know what you were thinking Anne." He said that made me to look up to him and I couldn't deny it, he knows me too well. "Stop it, will you?"

"What?" I plainly asked back as if I don't know what he was talking about and before he could answer back, I quickly stand up out of the bench I'm sitting and added. "I'm starving already! Why don't we go and buy something to eat before we go home?"

"But–––"

"Please, Chaddy!" I cut him off and called him to my chosen nickname since he had none.

Chadd sign off to surrender before he answered with a smile. "Alright, let's go!"

"Yeepee!" I excitedly answered and added. "Your treat!"

He smirks. "As I expected."
