「 ✦ The Future Awaits ✦ 」
Today was the day of the choosing ceremony. Yesterday after Elizabeth came home daddy dearest found it prudent to show her all that she would have to look forward to if she stayed in Amity.
This resulted in a severely bruised hip, but nothing worse than she had endured before.
Right now, she was walking towards the building where the ceremony would take place. Her sister and father were with her and Daisy had a tight hold on her hand the whole walk there.
When they reached the building she stopped.
"Remember" Her father said to her gripping her elbow tightly. Too tightly.
"You choose Amity" She nodded at him and he let go of her.
Sure, i'm definitely going to choose the option where i get beaten everyday just for your pleasure.
When they finally walked into the building it was after everyone but abnegation. Amity are supposed to be kind so they would wait for others to go in, and abnegation are selfless to a fault so they go last.
Finding their seats wasn't difficult, they just walked towards the section of seats that was all wearing bright yellow.
When they had sat down, she looked over to see the same blonde abnegation girl with her family talking to Jeanine. She now recognised her as one of the Prior family.
Must be Beatrice.
Daisy had sat in Elizabeth's lap, wanting to remain as close as possible to her sister in what she knew would be their final moments together. The fact that their father wasn't suspicious at all said something about his IQ.
"The faction system, is a living being composed of cells. All of you. And the only way it can survive and thrive is for each of you to claim your rightful place. The future belongs to those who know where they belong"
Elizabeth wholeheartedly disagreed. She knew exactly which faction she would choose, ever since the first time her father ever laid a hand on her. But the faction system was flawed and corrupt and will not survive without great loss and violence.
"When we leave this room, you will no longer be dependents, but full fledged members of our society" Marcus Eaton.
Elizabeth knew exactly what he was. She knew the rumours were true because she saw it in his eyes. The same look her father possessed.
"Faction before blood"
Absolutely not.
There was no way Elizabeth was going to pick her faction over Daisy. Ever.
She unknowingly held Daisy tighter at that thought which made the little girl smile slightly. She understood what it meant and she squeezed her big sister back.
"I love you" Daisy whispered to Elizabeth. "I love you too" She whispered back, kissing her forehead.
"Johnathon Ziegler" The first name is called. It's an Erudite boy who picks, surprise surprise, Erudite.
