Nathan's pov
It was getting late. 'When are you supposed to get home?' I questioned her.
'I don't really have a curfew, plus I need some time away.'
'Parents fighting?' Curiosity took over.
'Oh, no. They are separated, but sometimes I just get enough of my room.'
She laid down facing me, shivering a bit.
'Here,' I gave her my jacket.
'Oh, please don't. That way you'll be cold.'
I thought for a bit. God, I am so going to loose my job. 'Fine. Come here.' I put the jacket back on and spread it open, so that she could have space to sniggle in. I didn't want to do it, but I had no other choice. She wasn't going to let me be cold and neither was I going to let her.
She took some time to process it.
'Come on. There's nobody here. It's either that or one of us freezes and you know I won't let it be you.'
She laid her head on my chest. After some time her breaths became slower and steadier. I surmise she had fallen asleep, because it was getting late. I woke her up and helped her to my car. I opened the door for her, put on her seatbelt and then closed it. She was half asleep.
'Where do you live?'
No reply. I looked at her. Her face was facing the window, but I could see that her eyes were closed. I didn't want to wake her up.
'I suppose it's my place then.'
