the next day
Y/n's pov
Everyone was feeling sorry for me, which I absolutely despised, so I didn't want to skip another day of school. It would make people feel even more concerned about me.
Ash was waiting for me infront of my house in his car; a '67 Mustang. His dad had a thing for cars, so it was supercharged. I could hear him from miles away.

After school
I barely got through the day. People were constantly apologising and it was becoming more irritating by the second.
Ash suggested to drop me off at home, since I didn't take my car with me today.
'Are you sure you don't want me to come in?' my best friend asked.
'Yeah, I'm fine.' I closed the car door. 'Thanks for the ride though!' I told him, leaning on the open window. 'See you tomorrow!' I said and shot him a smile. And with that I walked away.
My father was cooking some dinner for later.
'Hey, honey! I'm making you some pasta, because I will be going out in a bit. I'll probably skip dinner. There is some work things I have to deal with. Is that okay with you?' he questioned.
'Yeah, that's fine,' she exhaled.
'So... how are you holding up?' There it was. THE question I certainly wasn't looking forward to.
'Yeah, I'm good.' Another fake smile.
'Good, good,' he replied, but I was afraid he was taking it harder than me.
'I'm going to go upstairs.' I awkwardly turned to the staircase.
'Wait!'
Now what?!
'Someone left a package for you.'
Oh.
'Here you go.' He handed it over to me.
'Oookay... thanks...'
