Chapter 21 - Archery Competition Incident

Wuxian and Wangji teleportated back to the mountain shortly after waking up at Cloud Recesses. Though they woke at the five o'clock morning time, they flashed in their private bedroom as to not disturb anyone.

"Lan Zhan, it's still a bit early, can we just hang here for a bit, eat breakfast?" Wuxian asked, "maybe check if the boys are up and have them join us?"

"Sure," Wangji agreed.

One of Baoshan's current disciples was making their breakfast as Wangji went to go check on the twins. Of course, being from GusuLan, they were up already. They were happy to join their Baba and A-Die for breakfast.

"Baba, if I ever said anything in the past the was hurtful, I apologize," Sizhui said.

"I am also sorry for how I acted to you, Baba," Jingyi told him.

Wuxian smiled at his boys, "you both are so sweet, and thank you. It is okay. I forgive you both. You two were born when I was at my breaking point. You had to grow up with the misconception of what people said about me."

"A-Die was also devoted to you though, that we know," Sizhui pointed out, "When I first saw him playing Inquiry I asked to learn it. I didn't know exactly who he was trying to reach but I could tell it was someone important."

"How come Jingyi didn't learn it? Actually, I don't see you with a guqin that often," Wuxian asked.

"I am not patient enough to learn it," Jingyi answered, "though the guqin is the one instrument many Lan disciples learn, it is not required to learn it if we chose not to."

"Do you not have an interest in music cultivation?" Wuxian asked.

Jingyi didn't answer right away. He seemed hesitant to answer if anything. Sizhui spoke for him, "he told me he would like to learn the Xiao or Dizi like Baba or Uncle Xichen."

Wangji smiled, "so why not learn it? Flutes are okay to learn," he stated.

"I can teach you," Wuxian offered, "you just need a Dizi or a Xiao first. And if not me, I am sure Zewu Jun would love to teach you as well."

"I would want to learn the Dizi from Baba," Jingyi said shyly, "but I didn't know if would want to."

"How would you know if you don't ask?" Wuxian asked.

"I was nervous to," Jingyi said, "I don't know if you'd take me seriously as we goof around a lot."

Wuxian smiled, "we may goof around a lot, but I can be a serious parent when I have to and need to," he stated.

"I will remember that," Jingyi said, "will you teach me how to make a Dizi since you made Chenqing?"

"I can," Wuxian offered.

"Alright, our breakfast is here, we can chat after when we wait for the other in the screening room," Wangji said.

After eating, the four of them made their way to the screening room. Lan Xichen and Lan Qiren were already there as being from the Lan Sect, it was expected for them to be up.

"A'Xian, welcome back, where did you end up?" Xichen asked.

Wuxian grinned, "would you believe me if I told you I immediately went to Cloud Recesses?" He told him.
