Even though the group had a few breaks, Baoshan thought it was best to continue the next day. She wanted everyone to rest up for a day. So much has been seen in such a good amount of time but not much time has been given to let the group absorb it or rest from it.
Wei Wuxian was the first one out of the room. He was getting physically drained from all of the emotional turmoil he has been going through recently. From seeing himself wishing Xiao Xingchen when he was being tortured by Xue Yang, to seeing just how much he took advantage of drunk Wangji, and to see how he is yet again, criticized for his playful character. There was also that moment when he was reminded of Jin Ling's rage and his blame for Wuxian on his parents' death.
Wei Wuxian was exhausted! He wanted nothing more than to go hide away somewhere. Unexpectedly by everyone, Wuxian got a hold of a teleportation talisman and flashed himself out of the mountain. That worried Wangji the most as he know Wuxian was in trouble with himself. Luckily, Wangji had some ideas of where of where Wuxian would go, so he went to search each and every place he could think of.
His first thought was the cave at the burial mounds, but the more Wangji searched the more he couldn't find him anywhere. He then remembered what Baoshan told him.
"Find the bond that is linked within you both, and it will guide you to him," He remembered her words.
Wangji was surprised when he bond link brought him back to Cloud Recesses, "out of all places, why Gusu?" Wangji wondered.
He continued to follow the link, only for him to be brought to the back hills where his bunnies were. Wangji knows that Wuxian loved the rabbits just as much as he did. As he approached, he saw Wuxian sitting in the grass under a large oak tree, with several bunnies piled on his lap. Wuxian's eyes were glossed over as it looked like he was about to cry.
"Lan Zhan, do you remember when I gave you two of these fuzz balls?" Wuxian asked and Wangji sat down, calmly beside him.
"Mnn," He hummed, "how can I?"
Wuxian chuckled as his tears finally broke free from his eyes. Wangji wiped them away gently with the back of his hand.
~*Memory*~
Lan Wangji sat before the desk, organizing the stack of paper which he wrote on, as heard a creaking noise coming from the window. He looked up to see someone hop inside.
Wei Wuxian came up by climbing the magnolia tree outside of the Library Pavilion. His face was beaming, "Lan Zhan, I'm back! Did you miss me? Huh? Without me copying texts for these past few days?"
Lan Wangji seemed like an old monk in a state of meditation, seeing everything as nothing. He even continued to organize the pile of books with a numb expression.
Wei Wuxian deliberately misinterpreted his silence, "I know, even if you don't say it, that you definitely missed me. Or else, earlier on, why did you look at me through the window?"
Lan Wangji immediately shot him a glance, his eyes full of silent accusations.
Wei Wuxian sat atop the windowsill, "Look at you, rising to the bait after just a few sentences. You're so easy to catch. This way, you won't be able to maintain your composure."
Lan Wangji, "You, leave."
Wei Wuxian, "If I don't leave, will you throw me down?"
Looking at Lan Wangji's face, Wei Wuxian suspected that if he spoke one more sentence, Lan Wangji would really abandon the small amount of self-restraint he had left and nail him onto the window at once.
