Before the next part of the memory continued, Wei Wuxian started to get antsy. Wangji placed his hand on Wuxian's lower stomach and gently rubbed.
"What's wrong?" Lan Wangji asked in a whisper.
Wuxian sat up feeling nauseous. Before he knew it, he bolted out of the room and outside next to a large tree with a few bushes. He didn't want to make a mess inside. Wangji followed him out and moved his hair out of the way as Wuxian threw up his breakfast.
"Lan Zhan?" Wuxian asked.
"Mnn, I'm here," Wangji said.
Wuxian wiped his mouth and leaned back against the tree, "now that happened, I'm hungry and thirsty," Wuxian told him.
Lan Wangji chuckled, "well, we should fix that, shouldn't we."
"No," Wuxian pouted.
"No pouting," Wangji told him poking Wuxian's lip.
"Er-Gege," Wuxian pouted more taking his hands swinging them back and forth, "do you think Shijie would make her soup?"
"You'd have to ask her...if like to learn so I can make it for you whenever you want it," Wangji told him, "let me take you back."
Wuxian turned his pouting frown into smiled and went behind Wangji, hopping in his back, "can you carry me?" Wuxian asked.
Wangji adjusted Wuxian on his back, "I can and I will. Let's go, huh XianXian?"
Wuxian placed a kiss on the back of Wangji's head before resting his head down on Wangji's shoulder, "Mnn, Er-Gege."
Carrying him back, the others were a bit surprised to see Wangji treat Wuxian more carefully and gently, "Wangji, is something wrong with Wuxian that he can't walk?" Xichen asked in a tease.
Wangji set Wuxian down and let him sit down, "Yanli, can I asked you a favor?" Wangji asked ignoring his brother.
"What is that?" Yanli replied happily.
"I don't know if Baoshan has the ingredients, but can you make your soup for Wei Ying?" Wangji asked.
"Of course," she answered, "is he sick? He looks pale."
"I'll be fine," Wuxian said.
Yanli left and decided to make enough for everyone. A batch that is spicy for Wuxian's taste, and for the rest, a much more mild spice. They all ate as they continued to watch the screen.
...
And so, the waves of criticism began:
"Who knew this person could be so ungrateful and immoral!"
In the past few years, the words 'ungrateful' and 'immoral' were almost tied to Wei Wuxian. At first, he even thought that they were criticizing him again. He only realized afterwards that even though it was the same people using the same words, the object of their criticism had already changed. He felt a bit not used to it.
Closely after, someone else spoke, "Back then, Jin Guangyao could climb up a step at a time only by playing up to Chifeng Zun and Zewu Jun. Or else, how could a prostitute's son like him be where he is now? How dare he lay his hands on Chifeng Zun! Zewu Jun is still with him right now. Let's hope that nothing happens to him!"
In the beginning, none of them believed that Chifeng Zun's death, the incident of the dismembered corpse, and the corpse siege at Burial Mound was all related to Jin Guangyao. Now, everyone suddenly believed it.
"Not only his sworn brothers, his brothers by blood had it even worse. The couple of years before Jin Guangshan's death, he busied himself everywhere getting rid of his dad's illegitimate children, scared that someone would suddenly appear and fight for his spot with him. It wasn't even that bad for Mo Xuanyu. If not because he lost his mind and was forced back, maybe he'd end up the same way the others did and disappear for some reason or another."
