It's been two months since everyone went back to their normal lives. Nie Mingjue ended up becoming the Chief Cultivator and Lan Wangji remained at Celestial Mountain with Wei Wuxian. The rest of the cultivation world was a bit confused as to why Nie Mingjue and a bunch of other cultivators came back from the dead. Nie Mingjue set up a conference to talk about what happened, and those who were with him confirmed his story.
Some cultivators were suspicious of it all so Baoshan allowed Nie Mingjue to show the memories to the rest of the cultivation realm. It was censored though, as to make sure Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian had their privacy in a way. Wen Ruohan was also cleared of his past crimes as he had died once already. Nie Mingjue was to make sure the Wens were properly sorted and taken care of and were to make sure they were not discriminated against by others.
Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian were lazing about in their room at celestial mountain. Wei Wuxian was a little over two months into his pregnancy and, like before, it was only a four month wait. So he was now showing a lot more. Just chilling in his trousers, Wei Wuxian was leaning back against the headboard of the bed just feeling around his stomach. He smiled when he felt a slight movement and a soft kick.
"Lan Zhan," Wei Wuxian called.
Lan Wangji who was sitting at the desk reading a scroll, set it down and looked at his husband, "hmm?"
"Come here," Wei Wuxian motioned happily.
Lan Wangji curved his lips into a smile as he stood up and made his way over, sitting beside him, "what is it?"
"Give me your hand," Wuxian told him. Lan Wangji complied and lifted his hand for him to take. Wei Wuxian moved his hand over to where the baby was moving and kicking, "can you feel that? The movement?"
Lan Wangji's smile grew, "I can," he said and leaned down to where his hand was and spoke again, "hello little one. We are patiently waiting for you." Lan Wangji then placed a kiss on Wei Wuxian's stomach.
Wei Wuxian giggled, "A-Die is being a sweetheart again."
Lan Wangji sat up and sat closer to him and pulled him onto his lap, "not many get to see that side of me," He said and placed a kiss on Wei Wuxian's cheek.
Wei Wuxian wrapped his arms around Lan Wangji and rested his head on Wangji's chest, "if you aren't busy, can we stay like this for a while?"
"Mnn," Lan Wangji hummed as he started to gently rub his fingers against Wei Wuxian's scalp and playing with his hair, "I'm never too busy for you."
"How does it feel to be free of the cultivation world?" Wei Wuxian asked.
"I like it, actually," Lan Wangji answered, "I get to spend more time with you."
"It's nice to have my husband back," Wei Wuxian admitted and sat up, "I'm sorry about hiding things before all of this. I'm sorry I didn't open up to you either. It's just not easy to talk about...will you forgive me?"
"Wei Ying, you don't need to apologize," Lan Wangji said, "I know that it's been a long journey for the both of us. I forgive you. In fact I have nothing to forgive. I love you. I know that you and I will need out space and find time to think over things before talking to each other. But that option is always there, talking to each other."
Wei Wuxian nodded, "thank you."
Lan Wangji leaned in and kissed Wei Wuxian on the lips. Wei Wuxian moved his arms around Lan Wangji's neck as Lan Wangji wrapped his arms firmly around Wei Wuxian. With a nibbled on his bottom lip, Wei Wuxian let out a soft moan. Lan Wangji's lips picked up the pace against Wei Wuxian's hungrily. Wei Wuxian's mouth opened as Lan Wangji's tongue pushing past his lover's clenched teeth to the moist space within.
Wei Wuxian worked his mouth against Lan Wangji's, their tongues battling back and forth like a spar, each trying to succeed the other. The heat rose in Wei Wuxian's cheeks as his tongue touched Lan Wangji's tongue, quick and electric and delicious, then firmer, more determined, seeking to chase down that lustful desire that spread through them both.
Wei Wuxian pulled away from the kiss, "I can never get enough of you, you know that."
Lan Wangji kissed Wei Wuxian's forehead, "I know, and you can have as much of me as you want. As I can have as much of you and I want. I can't get enough of you either," he said.
Wei Wuxian giggled, "I think you have learned to communicate a lot better. You know how to say such sweet things."
"Mnn, I have been learning from my past mistakes I suppose," Lan Wangji said, "I want to be like this for you more often. I want you to know you can talk to me about anything."
"I know, since we watched all of those memories, we seem to have learned a lot about each other," Wei Wuxian stated, "more me then you though."
"If you want to know more about me, all you have to do is ask," Lan Wangji told him.
"Do you know how the boys are doing?" Wei Wuxian asked.
"They are doing fine," Lan Wangji answered, "I saw them training yesterday."
"That's good...you taught them well," Wei Wuxian told him.
"It was a promise I made to you...plus now that you are here, you can start to teach them things. As well as the little one we are waiting for," Lan Wangji said as he placed his hand back on Wei Wuxian stomach.
Wei Wuxian smiled, "I wonder what names the boys picked out. They better be good."
"I trust them," Lan Wangji said, "you have a check up with Baoshan later right?"
"Mnn," Wei Wuxian said, "they want to make sure I'm doing okay as well as taking care of myself and the baby. I have you around, like I can do anything reckless."
"I dare you to try with me," Lan Wangji warned.
"I would never," Wei Wuxian teased, "well, not while I'm pregnant anyway."
"I was just going to say. You have been reckless dozens of times," Lan Wangji told him.
"I had my reasons," Wei Wuxian argued.
"At least those times you were reckless, a question has been answered," Lan Wangji said, "like at the temple, or you breaking rules."
"I don't follow rules, you should know that by now," Wei Wuxian stated.
"That's what I love about you most, you are always being yourself," Lan Wangji told him and kissed his cheek, "I hope you never change in that regard."
"As long as you never change for being protective over me. I feel safe around you. You're the first person who has ever actually stood up for me and never left my side," Wei Wuxian explained, "thank you, for being the best friend, the best soulmate, and the best husband and cultivation partner I could ever ask for."
"You don't ever have to thank me, love," Lan Wangji told him, "and I'll always be with you. Forever and always."
"Forever and Always," Wei Wuxian repeated his words.
Lan Wangji kissed him again. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji spent the rest of their day relaxing and discussing their past and thoughts of how to correct their wrongs. They were going to be better at communicating with each other. Wei Wuxian was grateful, and he was waiting for the day for their family to expand and for them to renew their vows.
