Bettys POV
I got to school for the first day and smiled as I saw my best friend Veronica Lodge.

She hugged me saying "aren't you excited! Our junior year so close to senior year!"

I smiled and she said "we're gonna go find some boys this year, hey...how about you go for Archie Andrews? He's always checking you out."

I sighed saying "he wouldn't go for someone who's books smart like me."

She said "anyone would like a smart beautiful girl like you."

I frowned saying "Veronica trust me..."

She huffed and said "it's just...you seem so upset about whenever I get with someone that...I feel horrible about myself..."

I said "it's fine V..."

She nodded and I smiled as she said "oh no, 12 o clock serpents..."

I turned my head as I stared and suddenly saw Jughead walking in with some of his friends. I gulped and he saw me and smirked, I smiled at him and Veronica said "come on let's hurry."

She grabbed my arm and I gasped as she pulled me away but I turned back to wave at him as we disappeared.

Jugheads POV
I saw Betty get pulled by a girl and saw something of hers drop. I kneeled down and grabbed it seeing it was her wallet and I put it inside my jacket.

Toni suddenly muttered "stealing? We already have a bad rep."

I said "no it's not. I'll find her...when the time comes."

She sighed and said "come on we have Ap Psych."

I nodded and we left. Later that day as I was in art class, I spotted her as her hand was on the doorway. I gulped hoping she was in the class as she began walking inside and I smiled and she saw me and smiled. I looked around and didn't see any serpents...but all the Northsiders are steering clear from me...she smiled seeing me as she walked over.

She asked "need a partner?"

I nodded and she sat down and I went into my jacket and gave her back her wallet "oh my god I've been looking for this everywhere! Thank you!"

I smiled and she smiled back as the teacher came in "welcome to your first day back everyone I hope you all did your assignments for the summer."

I gulped and Betty looked at me and I said "I just figured out I was coming here a week ago..."

She smiled saying "don't worry. I always have a backup."

She suddenly took out a sketch pad and flipped through it shoving it saying "pick!"

I looked through the pad and I chose one and she carefully ripped it out and gave it to me and smiled holding the pad as he came around.

"Well done Ms Cooper as always."

She laughed and he saw mine and said "impressive work...Mr Jones. One of the transfers..."

He nodded and I muttered to Betty once he walked off "I didn't even draw this and he's still rude."

She smiled saying "don't worry, it's gonna be okay."

I nodded and she said "I won't let anyone treat you differently."

I smiled and she smiled back as suddenly she heard "Elizabeth Cooper to the principals office, Elizabeth Cooper to the principals office."

She sighed and grabbed her stuff and I smiled and waved as she waved back and left.

Bettys POV
"Mr Weatherbee it's just the first day I've done nothing!" I shouted conceded.

He laughed saying "that's not it at all Betty, I just wanted to inform you that the Blue and Gold may be shutting down."

I gasped saying "why!"

He told me "because you don't have enough members."

I said "but Mr Weatherbee this looks good on my college application."

He said "well, no one wanted to sign up this year Betty."

I frowned and he said "unless you find at least one other person it won't be shut but if not...I'm sorry."

I frowned and he let me go. At the end of the school day Veronica said "that's so wrong! It's your dream to write!"

I sighed and she said "well now you can try out for cheerleading!"

She left and I sighed and groaned as I went to the Blue and Gold. I sat down and ran my hands through my hair frustrated on not knowing what to do. I began crying as I held my head as I heard a knock.

I looked up and saw Jughead and he said "I heard cries...thought either someone was hurt...well actually that's it."

I frowned and he sat next to me "you okay?"

I sniffled saying "Weatherbee wants to shut down the Blue and Gold, no one signed up...but this is the only way for Yale to scout me..."

He said "woah Yale?"

I nodded and he said "that's one of the top schools of the country!"

I said "so?" He sighed and I said "my dad went there my mom...she never got to take chances like those...my dad got a full scholarship...I don't wanna mess it up."

He frowned and he said "what if I join?"

I looked at him saying "I'm flattered."

He said "for real! I know a photographer too..."

I said "you would really do that for me?"

He smiled saying "if it makes you feel more secure about your future of course, not many of us get to have what you have...so if it'll make you happy and not worried, so be it."

I smiled and he smiled back as I said "thank you!"

I hugged him and he laughed saying "yeah..."

I looked at him and he smiled and I looked at him and gulped and stepped back laughing awkwardly rubbing my neck as he smirked.

I said "I don't get why my friends say you guys are scary..."

He smiled saying "well to be honest when we first met...I didn't think you were like any other Northsider...they wouldn't even try and speak to someone like us. Let alone help at all."

I smiled and said "well...maybe I'm not like just any other Northsider..."

He stared at me and I stared back as my phone rang and I grabbed it saying "it's my mom... she's here to pick me up. I've gotta go..."

He nodded and I said "meet me here tomorrow? So we can start?"

He said "of course, wouldn't miss it for the world."

I nodded and grabbed my stuff and left.
