Bettys POV
I was at school doing homework as Jughead and a girl with pink hair came in.

I gulped as he smiled saying "this was our old school news paper where Toni and I worked on it together."

I than said "your Toni huh?"

She said "yup..."

I sighed and said "yeah I would like to have you both join..."

I smiled and said "so...let's start?"

They nodded and we began to work. As i was working and writing my phone rang and it was mg dad.

"I have to take this..." I informed them as I walked out.

I answered the phone and said "hey dad..."

He said "I hope I'm not interrupting you...but guess what?"

I said "what?"

He said "I have work duties for Christmas..."

I frowned saying "you're not coming home for Christmas?"

He actually gave me a complete 180 by saying "as long as I work from home and stay in New York...how would you like it if your mother and you came here for Christmas?"

I scoffed and squealed saying "yes! Yes I want that!"

He laughed saying "I know it's far but I want to make sure if anything happens beforehand."

I said "yes dad mom and I would love to go see you for Christmas! I can't believe it I love you!"

Jugheads POV
I heard Betty shouting in happiness and I smiled hearing her that happy as Toni said "you see that? And Northsiders wonder why we hate them? Look at what they do, they just brag about all their happiness and rewards they get while us? We're never gonna leave Riverdale."

I turned to her as she put her headphones back on and I turned away playing with my pen.

Betty came back smiling saying "okay, I feel a lot better so let's get this paper done."

She sat down and I stared at her as my phone chimed and I grabbed it seeing Toni texted me

'She's selfish'

I sighed and set my phone down and worked. After Toni left I began packing up but saw Betty was still working.

I stared at her and said "hey, shouldn't you get home?"

She shrugged saying "I wanna finish it up."

I sighed and said "you work to hard."

She said "well I learned working more helps."

I then said "but it can also be a distraction from something..."

I sat next to her saying "you okay?"

She gulped and said "can you keep a secret?"

I laughed saying "considering we've only know each other for three days and your not saying this to one of your actual friends...spill."

I grabbed a chair and she sighed and said "my mom...I love her...with my whole life."

I nodded as she said "but I think she's hiding something from me."

I said "okay...I'm not following."

She frowned and said "my mom has this whole secret family that she never wants me to meet cause they're dangerous, and they've hurt my dad...physically specifically. And she's scared that because I'm like him and they still don't accept him...they'll do the same to me...but I want to know her life..."

I sighed and she said "and I don't wanna tell my friends because then they will tell me what I want to hear, but we just met...so tell me honestly what should I do?"

I sighed and thought for a second and said "well...you should talk to your mom...and if not...I know this is gonna sound obvious coming from a serpent, talk to her family yourself, sneak around and look for something."

She smiled but frowned asking "but what if she finds out?"

I said "well...tell her that if she's not gonna give you something, you'll figure it out yourself."

She smiled and said "thank you..."

I nodded and she said to me "do you wanna...take me home or are you busy?"

As I was about to say anything I got a text from Toni and I sighed and looked at Betty smiling.

"Sure."

She smiled and I shoved my phone into my pocket as she got her stuff packed and we left. I got her home and she smiled at me as she waved goodbye at me and I waved back and left. I got to the Whyte Wyrm as I saw my friends and Toni.

"Where were you?" She asked.

I said "what's it to you?"

As I dropped my bag on the couch as she shouted "you were with her!?"

I sighed and said "what? You jealous Topaz, our thing is over."

She said "no! But the fact that your hanging around and doing shit with a Northsider!"

Sweet Pea scoffed and said "a Northsider? Is she any good?"

I sighed and said "I haven't done anything with her alright?"

Sweet Pea smirked saying "ahhh, saving her for later your a dog Jones!"

I shoved him off saying "knock it off both of you."

They said "so what? Is our leader gonna be done being a leader?"

I said "you guys know I'm not the leader."

They shouted "yeah but Alice Smith is going to retire we all know it! She hates Northsiders and you being with one, it'll cause for you to break that possibly ruin your chances."

I sighed and said "oh please as if Alice Smith gives a fuck about what I want."

Toni said "well if you fuck one of those Northsiders, you can forget about your leadership."

I sighed and she left and I groaned rubbing my eyes. As I got home I saw my dad as he smiled looking on his phone but quickly put it away.

"Gross dad, porn really?" I groaned out.

He rolled his eyes as he asked "how was your first day? We're the Northsiders bitches as always?"

I gulped and said "yeah..."

He said "I remember when Alice had this secret boyfriend."

I was taken aback saying "what?"

He laughed saying "yeah, boy someone killed him. She just forgot about him quickly. I'm surprised she went for a Northsider."

He drank his beer as I asked "why did they kill him?"

He told me "Northsiders are snitches Jug. We get too close we start blabbing our mouth offs and than...just like that the cops are knocking on our front door."

I gulped as he said "please don't get involved with any of them okay?"

I nodded and he smiled and kissed my forehead.

He said "I'm getting us some Chinese I'll be back."

He left and I sighed as I sat on the couch and groaned leaning my head back.
