THE STARCOURT MALL WAS UNBELIEVABLY CROWDED. Teens were flying by right and left, their hair teased and their clothes colorful as they went into every possible store that they could find - their parents' credit cards be dammed.
It seemed as though everyone was enjoying the new establishment with grins on their faces. Shopping had become the favorite pass time for everyone in Hawkins, and it was rare to see the mall without the crowd that gathered every day.
People were so entertained with their friends, lovers, and of course - shopping bags, that they failed to notice the two figures hunched over behind a potted plant - which in hindsight, was probably a terrible 'hiding place'.
Steve Harrington was holding a pair of black binoculars in his hands, his mouth hung agape as he searched the premises of the mall - what was he searching for, you might be asking?
Evil Russians.
"Do you see anything?" Dustin asked, his hunched-over posture protruding through the gaps of the plant as he followed Steve's line of sight.
"Uh, I guess I don't totally know what I'm looking for," Steve admitted with an offhand shrug.
"Evil Russians," Dustin replied.
"Yeah exactly, I don't know what an evil Russian looks like," Steve commented.
"Tall, blond - not smiling," Dustin answered plainly.
"Mm-hmm?" Steve hummed under his breath, still unconvinced about the entire mission.
"Also, look for earpieces, came, duffel bags - that sort of thing," Dustin instructed.
"Right, okay, duffel bags," Steve nodded, his head twisting to look over at the crowd in the food court once more.
His eyes squinted as he tried to search for what Dustin was telling him. It dawned on him that he looked absolutely ridiculous - certainly, an Evil Russian would not be wandering around the mall in broad daylight.
He paused when his eyes landed on a pair of teens chatting on the upper level of the mall. His face twisted in disgust as if he were really bothered by the scene he had just witnessed.
