I wiggled my way out of Darry's bone-crushing hug and made my way to the window, so I could see how much of the gang Soda was able to scare off. Sure enough, only Dally was left sitting on the porch in one of our rusty green chairs. For once— he actually looked worried.

I looked back at Darry, who gave me a reassuring nod and a soft smile. God, he was actually going to let me date Dallas Winston— the criminal, the bad influence, the tough hood. And I couldn't be more thankful. I smiled at Darry, my entire face glowing. He chuckled to himself, then I stepped out onto the porch. Dally immediately turned to face me, concern in his eyes.

"He wasn't too rough on ya, was he?" Dally asked, starting to pace across the porch, "God— I can't believe I did that. I'm such a—" But before he could finish his sentence, I abruptly cut him off with a kiss. His lips were surprisingly soft, pressing up against mine. I put my arms around his neck and fiddled with the chain of his St. Christopher necklace, while he ran his fingers through my messy, brown, wind-blown hair. God, I never wanted that moment to end. It was like something straight out of a romantic movie— perfect. All of the worry and stress I had been holding in for the past few days melted away. It was absolute perfection.

Dally's POV:

But before I could finish my sentence, Lex's lips were pressed up against mine. At first, I was completely frozen in shock— but I quickly gave in. Man, I had waited so long for that moment, and it was everything I had imagined. Her lips were warm, making the briskness of the Autumn morning seem like a thing of the past. I ran my fingers through her slightly tangled hair while she played with my necklace. "I'm gonna give her that necklace, man" I told myself.  Everyone, or at least the gang, knows that when I give a broad that necklace— I'm serious about her. Last time that happened, it was Sylvia. But man, I didn't want to think about her right now. Just soak in every second of this kiss, that I sure as hell wouldn't be ending anytime soon. I never wanted it to end. Something in my life finally seemed perfect— and I wasn't going to let it go so easily.

Alexis' POV:

When I heard the sounds of Steve, Soda and Two-Bit yelling and laughing amongst each other, I immediately broke apart from the kiss. Dally looked at me, with both amazement and confusion drawn across his face. Then he heard them too, and quickly sat back down, pulling out a cancer stick. I sat down in the other rusty chair beside him and motioned for him to give me one, too. People don't ask too many questions when you're smoking, at least that's my logic. He struck a match on the chain of his necklace, then lit both cigarettes. He handed me one, and we smoked while we watched the guys turn the corner of my street. But Dally's mind was focused on something else, as he messed with the clasp of his necklace.

"Hey Dal, what're you doin?" I asked him, cocking an eyebrow. (just like Two had taught me)

"I want you to have this, Doll. If ya know what I mean," he replied with a shrug, moving my hair out of the way and putting the necklace on me.

I looked down at the pendant, St. Christopher, amazed. That's Dally's way of letting the world know that you're his. No one messes with you when you're wearing Dally's necklace, cause they know they'll have to deal with him, too.

I looked back up at him, my eyes gleaming and a stupid smile growing on my face. He laughed and grinned back at me.

"Hey Dally! Hey Lexie! What y'all doing?" Soda asked casually, walking up the front steps— as though nothing had happened earlier.

"Nothin, just smokin" Dally replied dully.

Steve squinted at me, then noticed the shiny, silver chain around my neck. His eyes trailed down to the pendant that was hanging from it, and his eyes widened. He whipped his head around and nudged Soda in the ribs. Soda, who was leaning on the railing of the front porch, gave him a questioning look, then also spotted the necklace. He let out a small gasp. Two-Bit was still standing on their left, oblivious.

"D-Does Darry know?" Soda asked, his eyebrows raised in shock.

"Yeah, surprisingly, he's fine with it," I replied calmly. Soda and Steve both simultaneously let out a deep sigh of relief. Two-Bit cocked an eyebrow and gave the four of us a questioning look.

"What the hell are y'all talking about?" He asked, confused.

"I'm dating Dallas Winston," I said with a smirk.
