Inui
I stuffed my hands inside the pockets of my denim jacket as I walked through the empty streets, with the moon and street lights guiding my way. It's been hours since I heard..the terrible news. I couldn't sleep so I decided to have a little walk outside, or maybe visit where Shinichiro's old bike shop used to be—since it's been years since I last saw it. I looked at the night sky and let out a sigh—I couldn't stop thinking about [first name]-san..
I sighed and began recalling what type of person she was. And there are no words how to describe how amazing she was. She's the type of person who would be there if you need any help. I could still remember the number of times that she helped me, and the number of times that she lectured me about life.
I closed my eyes and tried clearing my mind, but I couldn't. I opened my eyes and decided to just watch my steps as I walk.
As I walk through the streets, my mind suddenly recalls a memory of her, and it's causing me to smile like a total idiot.
-flashback-
"Ow!"
[first name] flinched and immediately removed the wet cloth from the wound on my forehead. She placed her hand on the top of my head and calmly said, "Sorry, kid."
I could feel myself frowning a little as I look down at the floor, to avoid the concerned look that she was giving me. I heard her sigh, then she went back to treating my face. "Sorry for the trouble, [first name]-san.." I said, getting a little embarrassed.
I'm in Shinichiro's bike shop right now, and [first name]-san's currently treating my wounds.
"This is nothing, Seishu-kun." She said as she began wrapping my head with a bandage. I glanced at her and saw that she has a faint smile on her face. "Besides, I'm used to this.." she said as she made sure the bandage around my head was not too tight. "Shinichiro-kun...always gets beat up, huh?" I said.
She chuckled softly. "Yep.." she said as she stood up with the first aid kit in her hands. "Even before Black Dragon was born. That guy would always come home with a bruise on his face.." she added.
I rubbed my injured head as I looked down at my lap. "He did mention he was reckless ever since.." I said to myself, soft enough for [first name] not to hear. Then I looked at her and asked, "How many fights did Shinichiro-kun win?"
I heard [first name] hum as she turned her back on me, holding the first aid kit with one hand. "Actually...there's no fight that he ever lost to.." she said in a proud-like tone. "That moron won't back down, despite how badly beat up he was." she added. Then she looked over her shoulder to look at me, "Why'd you ask?" she said.
I shrugged. "I just wanna know how many times he won and lost.." I said.
She stared at me for a moment, then she flashed me a weak smirk. "Is winning that important?" she asked.
I heard myself let out a soft gasp when those words escaped her mouth. I don't know why but I was amazed by her words and the way how she said those words. She turned to face me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "There's something that I want you to always remember, Seishu.." she said. I just stayed quiet and listened to her. "Win or lose, you shouldn't give a crap about it. As long as you never gave up and you've done your all that's enough for you to become a total badass.." she said.
