3rd pov (AU)
The bond between Theo and Siluca is something every person they've come in contact with can almost see, and they are all more than happy to watch that bond grow, get stronger and make itself sturdy, nothing cutting through it even when the chance is there. Of course, they never expected to actually see the bond, never expected a mage to get a hit on Theo while they were all busy, a dirty, nasty, underhanded trick and dark magic at that. They'd been in the middle of a battle, Marrine by their side, the mage academy putting up a fight once they enter the city, when one of them had gotten behind the line, towards where Theo was left in order for him to remain safe, several mages around him in the hopes he would not get caught in the battle.
He had been paying attention, had turned on his horse to spot the mage, but it was only after the spell had been completed, a dark slithering, swirling lump of darkness flying at him, none of the mage's having a chance to react before it hits Theo across the chest, shattering into sand, the force knocking him off his horse, Moreno and Laura scrambling to catch him before he hit the ground. Ellet and Siluca fire spells at the mage, quick to restrain him, with Siluca hurrying off to interrogate the mage on what the hell he's just done to her Lord, while the others worry on trying to figure out what they can do to keep him alive.
Nothing appears wrong, he's breathing steadily, he's not coughing blood, bleeding from anywhere and appearing to die in their arms, but he's also not waking up, nothing they do gets him to open his eyes or his small aura to acknowledge they are there. They're starting to get frantic as well, because they're still in the middle of battle, if they retreat now, they might not have the supplies and morale to get all the way through and beat the enemy, so they are quick to come up with a plan. With a groan, several combine their magic, creating an illusion of Theo still astride his horse, while another puts their magic in disguising Theo himself, changing his hair color and clothes, making him appear as another soldier on the field.
Siluca glares at the mage, who's shaking, staring at her with fear in his eyes, but there is no regret, nothing to suggest he feels anything for having shot down and potentially killed - don't think about it, he feels alive still, the other end of the bond still warm with his heartbeat dontthinkhemightbedead - her Lord, so she has no real mercy to offer him.
"What the hell did you just hit him with?" Her voice is a snarl, a growl, a hiss, ready to tear his throat out and pry the answers from his dying mind if it means her Lord, her lover, her fiancé will survive for them to get married.
"A..a really simple dark spell, I'm not sure what it does, the superiors always told us that we were to memorize the spell and use it on the potential Emperor, but they never told us what it did! Please, I don't know anything, I swear!"
"If you're not telling the truth, you'll wish I had killed you here." She knocks the asshole out, hurrying back to the others, completely bypassing the illusion, making sure to give it a long enough check over and murmur words towards it to make it appear real, before heading for the real Theo, being lugged between Moreno and Boltz, both trying to keep him upright. Siluca gently sets her hands on both sides of his face, he's still warm and he's breathing, but he's also not awake, nothing acknowledging her presence, not him, not his soul or his mind where they're bound.
This is a truly nasty spell she realizes, but they don't have time, so Siluca starts helping on all fronts, contributing magic to both illusions and then the frontlines, determined to get the battle over and done with so she can put her all towards helping her Lord recover from where he is right now, which might not even be with them. For all that his soul and mind are bound to her and her to him, there are some dark magic spells that can remove the soul, force it free and tie it to another item or unable to get into it's own body again, but he's still alive at least, and she can work with that. With the help of the mages, the battle starts moving faster, the tides flipping on the academy until they're all rounded up. Theo gets off his horse and heads into the castle, the mages left outside.

FantasyThis is for the Grancrest Senki or Record of Grancrest Wars, since it gets so little attention. It'll be one shots as everything else, and even though there's a manga, I have only watched the anime, so it's based off that. Deal.
