Theo wants to know why there's so much prejudice against certain types of wings. Like, he could get it if they were risking hurting something or if they were hurting the person - well hurting them more, when they grow in always hurts - but hating someone because their wings are a certain color? Or a different material? He never had understood that, and maybe that is what leads to him being kicked out of his village (He had left, but the village say they kicked him out, refusing to acknowledge him.) after his father dies and his wings grow in. He hasn't ever tried using them, too scared and with way more focus on his survival than anything, but he knows they're extremely warm - feathers keep the warmth extremely well - and soft as well, since he uses them as a blanket while he's traveling.

Of course, over here, the way people are treated is based on their wings, unlike in Sistina where it was based on whether you vowed allegiance to the Rossini family and what kinds of things you did for them. He had refused to vow, so as soon as the option came, he left, and now he's being judged because his wings are different and a color that no one likes. He finds that rude, and honestly, after all the pointing, staring and muttered comments, he's starting to feel a bit insecure about them - how can he not, with people saying things like 'disgusting' or ' maybe you'd get more work without those abominations on your back' every time he passes? - and so he starts going everywhere with a cloak, using it to cover his wings in order to keep them from showing. He won't bind them, refuses to do so, but he's tired of hearing degrading comments about them as well. A person's self esteem can only take so much, ya know?

Of course then he meets Siluca, who he finds himself having mixed feelings towards. She's not really listening to him or asking for his advice, much less overly enthusiastic about the way he chooses to do things, and he's admittedly a bit shy around her, since most girls shy away from him and his wings. He's thankful that he hasn't had to remove the cloak yet, that it was windy enough to justify leaving it on, especially after seeing how pretty Siluca and Irvin's are. Hers are a beautiful almost white, with a golden sheen on the edges. Irvin's are gray, speckled with blacks and browns and other equally as dark colors, but they can still be seen, if you look for them. His wings are nothing like theirs and he has no plans on ever letting them see his wings, even though over here that's some kind of huge offense, from what he understood about the lecture Siluca gave him when he refused to bear his wings to her.

The lecture had been the only thing she'd said though, letting him get away with not showing her since they were strangers who had not known each other very well. But he knows, as they get further into their relationship, as he works under Villar and then avenges his, becoming the Altirk treaty leader, that he will have to say something soon, since he wants her to be his wife, to stand by his side and never leave him, no matter what. But, he still has insecurities about his wings, especially after going back to Sistina and seeing the disgusted, angry hating looks on people's faces every time they recalled what his wings looked like, some even claiming the coak looks better on him - he hadn't been able to help the way he'd flinched at that - but he'll push past it as long as she will remain by his side. Besides, with everything going on lately, he hasn't had a chance yet to groom them and so they're most likely a mess, if the itchiness and pain are anything to go off of.

He gives a weary sigh and rests his back against a nearby wall, making sure that it's not jabbing his wings in any place, before settling in. He knows Siluca will come along this way, it might be a while though. He's not wrong, he spends a good 30 minutes there, staring out the wind and watching the moon, trying to figure out how this conversation will potentially go and the way he would like it to go. Of course, he knows hope is strong but it will not affect whatever choice Siluca makes. He can only hope, however, that she will choose to stay with him, even after this. If she doesn't he'll respect her decision, even if he knows it will hurt him in ways he can't even begin to imagine, having her so close but unable to touch, to talk, to be with her as he is now. But, he's willing to take the risk, even knowing she might deny him.
