3rd pov

The knowledge of wolf shifters does not go world wide, like Werewolves, vampires and other such creatures. Shifters are different from werewolves, in that they are still entirely human, so being shot with a bullet, no matter the make, will kill them, and they have 3 forms to the werewolves 2. They can be human, they can be a wolf - a normal sized wolf - or they could be in the mixed state, which usually has them with claws, teeth, ears, tail and fur, but because of all this, they are the less known and thus less affected population of the supernatural creatures.

Of course, that doesn't mean much of anything, when the streets are filled with those who either want the supernatural dead or are the supernatural and want to have free rein to kill the humans. It certainly doesn't help that the hunters - those who hunt anything not human - are the ones who brought all information about the supernatural world to light, leaving the supernatural leaders to have to come out with their own information and see who they could gain as allies. A good chunk of the humans still fear the supernatural, but there are a great deal who are curious or neutral, so at least they have that going for them.

Of course, Theo had never really liked the way the other supernatural creatures dealt with humans after they discovered them, knows werewolves have some mind manipulation or some shit that can make humans forget so they don't need to be killed and vampires can erase their entire existence from someone's memories, but they still choose to kill as well and that bothers him. As the Alpha of the pack, the leader, a position passed on to him from his grandfather after his father died when he was but a pup, and he must think of their safety above everything, which isn't all that hard. He and Lassic are on good terms, as well as Marrine and Alexis. He's glad Alexis is a sensible vampire and Marrine a lovely elf chieftess, both seeing no reason to kill humans - though he's gotten a bit tired of seeing them dance around each other for the last 40 years, the one downside to being a partially important being - and Lassicis a fellow wolf, so he's glad he has connections, especially since the wolves that live with him, that are his pack, that he will protect with his very life, apparently feel the same, refusing to let him go to war with neighboring packs if he won't take them with him.

He's trying to find humans who want to live with wolf shifters, thinks they can bring a great deal to the pack since they may have human appearances, but without up to date information, they could never afford to go into cities for long, so their clothes are mostly things they found for cheap or that were made from things they bought from humans with no clue how to use it, at least in the beginning. He's currently in a city, resting on the roof of one of the buildings, a few of his people with him - Petr, Moreno, Lassic and Gluck are with him, since most of his pack dislike the noise of human cities - trying to find people who smell more of curiosity than fear when the supernatural are mentioned.

Of course, because Theo is naturally drawn to trouble, he stumbles upon a young girl - who smells extremely curious, much like the few other people he's seen dressed like her tonight, so maybe they're a group or something? - in her late teens, surrounded by a group of vampires, clearly hungry, perhaps under the control of a stronger vampire, he ponders as he catches sight of their eyes. He debates leaving her be, he's seen a lot of ass kicking by the other people wearing clothes like that, but there's a tugging in his chest, an urgent desire he's rarely felt before, since so few want to risk fighting him, that screams protect, protect, protect, so he jumps off the building, landing lightly at the end of the alley, changing into a wolf as he moves.

With a snarl, the vampires face him, angry at being interrupted, but he doesn't care, they're not being controlled so, they are literally just hunting humans because they want to kill them, nothing more and certainly nothing less. He watches them, more than prepared if they decide they want to have a go, he's fought plenty of other supernatural creatures over his hundreds of years of life - wolf shifters maybe be different, but they still life extremely long lives as supernatural creatures and they age slower, that's all - and most know better than to mess with him, alone or not, because he's extremely skilled whether it's with fang and claw or sword and shield. The 5 vampires apparently have some common sense, because they eventually turn and flee, refusing to fight him. (Of course, reporting him won't work either, 1 because he's in his territory 2 because it's dark and his pelt is hard enough to give a color to during the day, never mind in the dark and 3 because they know they won't get anything, since vampires as a whole were expected to be friendly with humans, not killing them.)
