3rd pov (The manga and show hint at people feeling when a crest shatters - whether it's a person serving them or the person they are serving.)

There's a reason most Lords aim for Lords under the work of another. They're trying to incapacitate the stronger Lord, the death ricocheting down the bond and affecting the Lord in some way, though it's different for each one. Some claim they feel like they're burning, some claim they go blind, some say they feel the pain where the wounds were inflicted, and others still say nothing happens. Truthfully, the type of Lord determines what kind of reaction they feel along the bond, though that is not something they will likely ever figure out, not when they're constantly at war with each other.

Siluca had taken a lot of things into account as she prepared them for the war ahead, but she had never seen Theo react in any way when someone under his crest dies, so she has no way of preparing for that, none at all. And she doesn't mean those under his banner, but those under his Crest, the Lords that have chosen to work with him, rather than against him in the war. None of them have died since sir Neyman, and that was before they'd really had any time to get to know him, but the Lord she works for still felt something. He said it felt a bit like an earthquake, rattling his entire being instead of the ground, but he had recovered in moments and had not suffered from any other effects, so she is hoping no one else dies. After all, he's much closer to most of the Lord's they're currently working with than he was with Neyman and she really doesn't want to see what happens to him if they die now.

She takes everything into account, tries to ensure none of the Lords will be killed in battle, but they're little she can do for the actual war, plans only last so long and the shield spells they can use are only going to last so long, but she's sincerely hoping that the Lords all survive. They do, to her great relief, all of them survive and make it through the war, but she had never considered after it. Her Theo has taken the throne, is working hard as the 1st Emperor to get everything better for both commoners and Lords, for men and women, he's trying his hardest and she appreciates that.

However, they tend to forget that most of the Lord's are in fact, older than Theo himself, most being lucky to live into their late 30', even early 40's. Of course, there are some things they can not help, and so when one of them happens to die - old age, they'd come to the castle, thankfully, in order to say goodbyes - everyone is shocked by Theo's reaction. Sure, they'd expected him to feel something, but they hadn't expected him to completely collapse after absorbing their crest. His eyes had rolled into the back of his head and only Emma's quick movements stop him from hitting the ground, a pillow under the back of his head.

They move forward, Siluca and the other mages trying to figure out the issues, especially as he appears to be rapidly deteriorating, but nothing they think of would apply to this, it's not an illness, nor a disease and he's perfectly fine, other than the fact that he collapsed, so they have no idea what went wrong. Then Ellet grabs their attention as she lifts his hand, all of them staring at his crest, which instead of fading is pulsing above his hand. Usually a bright blue, it's lost a bit of light, settling more as a stormy blue, just barely able to be seen with the way it pulses.

"Wait..." Moreno breathes, he's only ever read about this, had never thought that any Lord would ever get close enough to another for anything like this to apply, but he had long since grown used to Theo being close to all his people, commoners and Lords.

"Shit." Laura says, since she recalls reading about this from a book in Villar's library, a rare Lord effect that only a single person would ever claim to have, popping up every few eras or so.

"What? Moreno, what's wrong?" Lassic turns to his mage, because that is his best friend, practically his kid brother, laying on the ground, in pain, for no reason whatsoever.
