Zedaph PoV:
As Zedaph and Xisuma reached the end of the bridge, Xisuma stopped walking and stood still, clenching his fists and shutting his eyes. Zedaph was worried. He knew that his friend wasn't doing good, and that the rift had a way heavier influence on the admin then on himself. He cautiously watched his friend, ready to do something anytime- although he wasn't sure what he could do in any situation. The admin was shaking slightly, but as he stepped closer to hold him, Xisumas eyes opened again and he seemed to relax. This relieved Zedaph, as the other then started going up the hill to the beacon beam and he quickly followed him.
"Xisuma? Are you alright?", Zedaph called out, but Xisuma didn't seem to hear him. "X? Hello?" He quickly ran up to him and grabbed his arm, trying to get the attention of the admin to see if he was okay. The latter stopped and looked at him blankly, but he didn't seem to be himself, more like in some kind of trance. While the hermit stared at his admin, Xisuma violently freed his arm out of Zedaph's grasp and pushed him away, making Zedaph nearly falling down the hill, only barely grabbing onto some bushes. By the time he stood up again, Xisuma was kneeling in front of the beacon beam hole and looked inside it. "Xisuma! Are you alright? Please, talk to me!" He tried to run up to his friend, but by the time he got close to him, Xisuma had already stood up. "Xisuma! What-" He froze, as he saw the admin letting himself fall backwards into the hole.
Zedaph widened his eyes and felt like his heart dropped as he saw Xisuma fall down the beacon hole, which was way too small for one to use their wings. He ran up to it and screamed: "XISUMA?!!" He nearly fell in himself as he kneeled down in front of it and watched his admin fall. Their eyes met- Zedaphs wide in terror and Xisumas calm. The hermit watched him get smaller, and in the last second where he could still see Xisumas face it turned terrified, as if the admin had only just realized what happened. Then he landed on his back and Zedaph felt a sharp pain in his chest, since he was certain that there was no way to survive a fall that long. He tried to see if his friend was still alive, digging his shaking fingers into the edge of the dirt as he clenched his hands. He noticed movement, and then his friend seemed to step off the beacon. He was alive- how, Zedaph could not explain.
Only then he realized that he was hyperventilating and that his heart felt like it was going a million miles an hour. He carefully stood up and blacked out for a moment, regulating his breath and trying to recover from the shock. A couple of steps later he sat back down next to the hole, trying to think of something that he could do. That turned out to be difficult, as the rift was still giving him a headache which made it incredibly hard to concentrate. He took out his water bottle and took a couple of sips, even though he knew that it wouldn't make the headaches go away. After that, he tried to focus. Xisuma was down there. The rift was most likely as well. Should he jump down as well? It seemed too risky. Xisuma seemed to be fine tho. Maybe something slowed his fall down? Whatever it was, he couldn't guarantee that he would be fine as well. He peeked over the edge of the hole again, and to his surprise, there seemed to be something pink-purplish illuminating down there next to the beacon beam. It seemed to get stronger and he noticed that his headache was hurting more as well. Was Xisuma alright? "Xisuma?", he yelled down the hole. He didn't get a response, instead the light seemed to get brighter, nearly white by now. "Xisuma?!", he yelled again, and he started to worry more and more. Should he jump down? His headache felt like it was killing him.
As Zedaph kept looking down the hole, the light suddenly exploded. A blinding bright light lit up, so bright that he shut his eyes out of reflex. At the same time, he heard something like an explosion, so he immediately covered his ears. As soon as the explosion stopped, he didn't think twice and jumped down the hole. His thoughts were running- if something had happened to Xisuma, it was his fault, and his fault only. He managed to spread his wings before he landed, as there was now a room blown out of the stone and deepslate. As he looked in front of him, he saw multiple things at the same time.
