"It is in vain that I try to make these bars bend, to notch them with the implacable rigidity - they will not bend, they will not yield because it is in me that these bars are sealed and it is only when I will break that the bars will break".

Excerpt from a ghazal, By Gustaf FRODIND

With the sun setting and a breeze in his face, Tharn cannot suppress the smile that fills his face. Several passers-by give him strange looks but he doesn't care.

He is more than happy and soon he will be even happier. He has been thinking about it for weeks, he says, months now, and he has finally decided to take the plunge.

He was going to ask Type, his Type, to marry him, to unite their lives forever.

He even got the blessing of his parents and his own offered him all their support.

Today he finally got to see the rings he spent so much time and energy designing.

It took him three weeks to finally be satisfied with the design of the rings.

Tharn is not stupid enough to believe that Type didn't notice his trick.

The excuses are good enough to sneak off to find Jin, a friend he knew in college and with whom he shares his passion for music. Jin works in his parents' jewelry store and together they spend a lot of time designing the perfect rings.

Tharn wanted them to match, to represent all the love they have for each other.

And today, Jin called to tell him that the rings are ready. He shed tears when he saw them, they are just perfect.

To thank him, he invited Jin for lunch.  He spent the afternoon with his brother exchanging all the ideas they had about his request.

Strangely, he is not worried or anxious about Type's answer because he knows that they are made for each other.

With an even bigger smile on his lips, Tharn gets on the elevator and once off his cloud, he wonders how he will manage to hide the rings from Type.

He felt a little bad about having to lie to Type again, but it was worth it, after all, no more secrets between them.

Tharn enters the apartment, their home, to find... no one.

It's weird, usually Type would be at home. Worried, Tharn picks up his phone to call him, but he hears Type's phone ringing and it's coming towards the office.

Tharn feels a little silly for not thinking about it and heads over to properly greet his future husband, just the word fills him with joy.

-Tharn: Bebe, I'm back, you've got me such a... TYPE?

The hallway was also pitch black and as he turned on the flashlight of his phone, the first thing Tharn noticed were the blood stains on the floor.

His heart was pounding in his chest, he felt like the air in his lungs and the only thought running through his head was 'not him'.

The hallway seemed endless under the thin brush of his lamp. The closer he got, the more he could make out a faint light escaping from the half-open office door.
