Late in the afternoon, you strutted through the streets, on the way to a quaint little cafe that had recently opened. You needed to relax in a place where you could look for a new job online and eat a few muffins, and right now home didn't really feel like home. The feeling of someone watching you simply hasn't shaken since Spider-Man defeated the Chameleon.

So you've been coming to this café for about two weeks now. Some of the staff are already calling you a regular. While you're deep in your thoughts, the feeling of someone watching you returned. You looked behind you. Nothing but a street of bustling people who seem completely occupied by their own thing. You continued walking, trying to ignore the feeling.

You looked up at the rooftops. Again nothing and no one there. It's just your paranoia. You thought to yourself. You continued your walk in silence. When you approached an alleyway, you felt yourself being pulled to the side, into the valley of two buildings. "Don't scream," you heard before you could process what just happened. You looked up to see Spider-Man standing in front of you. He must have webbed you and pulled you into the alley.

"Don't scream? What kind creepy, rapist, bullshit is that?!" you yelled in a hushed tone. "What do you want? I thought I told you to leave me alone," you whispered, crossing your arms. "I know this isn't ideal but you wouldn't answer my calls! We'll talk about that later, I've come up with a plan to find Norman Osborn-" before he could go any further, you interrupted him. "Spider-Dunce, do you just hear what you want to hear?"

"What?"

"I said leave me alone. I mean not forever, we're still friends of course. But I need space. Just time to cool off from all this," you explained. "Are you serious right now? This city could be attacked, overthrown, or whatever other terrible things, any second now. The impostor - or should I say the Chameleon - could have told Osborn that we know he's still alive!" Spidey said, a strain in his voice.

"If you want my help, I'll help. When I've settled down into your insane world. Might take me a day, might take me a week. The anxiety of not knowing is what you deserve after pulling what you did." When you finished, you left the alley before he could reply. You knew he most likely wouldn't come out, out of the fear of someone noticing him. In irritation, Spider-Man dragged his hands down his face.

While he was annoyed with you, he still wanted to check if you were okay. He swung out through the back of the alley and towards the back of the cafe you were on your way to. Quickly, he changed his clothes and walked out onto the street as inconspicuously as possible. As you walked down the street, you noticed Peter on the other side.

"Hey Peter!" you called out, happy to see him. "Oh, hey Y/n!" he replied waving, acting as if he wasn't just talking to you about 10 seconds ago. The two of you stopped in front of the cafe. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "Well I've pretty much claimed this place as my second home," you joked. "It's a great place to just chill out and get work done."

Strange. They don't seem as upset as they did before. Guess they're good at hiding it. He thought to himself. "Nice. I've never been here before but I've heard their pastries are top notch." You gasped when he finished his sentence. "You don't even know! Come on, we should try some! Their double chocolate chip muffins are heavenly," you replied, almost drooling. You linked your arm with his and pulled him into the cafe.

The warm air surrounded you nicely, a change from the cool summer breeze but pleasant nonetheless. The area wasn't overly crowded, but not especially empty either. You brought Peter to the table you sit at every time you come there. It was one table away from the counter, so you could get up and buy whatever you wanted to get as many times as you wanted. This store must have earned hundreds from your impulsiveness alone.
