"What the hell does she think she's doing?!" the man yelled. He paced the dark wooden floors of his partners office, walking with the trod of a bear who had just lost it's meal. "Would you calm down Norman," the woman sighed, tapping her fingers on the desk, creating satisfying thuds as she hit the timber. "Calm down?! She is ruining the whole operation," he continued.

"Alright, I know she didn't follow the plan exactly, but it's fine. Maybe we can work with this. And besides, Peter Parker is insignificant. Our focus is Y/n,"

"And Spider-Man," he corrected.

"And Spider-Man," the lady sighed, repating his words.

"This is still outrageous. Elise had a simple task, and she's screwing it up. The Chameleon already wasted my time with this, if she's another waste of time, I'll have to do to her what I did to them-" as soon as he finished ranting, the woman slammed her palms against the table while abruptly standing up from her seat. The chair slid back against the wood, screeching in awkwardness.

"Norman. You so much as think of hurting that girl, and I'll kill you all over again. You will burn alive in acid, and I'll bury whatever is left of you at different corners of the world. And since no one knows your alive, it'll be the easiest death I'd ever have to take care of. Choose your words carefully," she declared, threatening him. "Alright alright. Relax. That was quite the exaggeration", he replied looking away and sliding his hands into the pockets of his suit pants.

She straightened her stance and glared at him before saying, "Look me in the eye and tell me again that I'm exaggerating," in a monotone voice. "Alright I get it! So aggressive," he said looking up at her as he crossed his arms. She continued staring him down. As he dared not repeat the words he uttered before, he averted his gaze, becoming uncomfortable.

"Hm," she remarked. "Anyways, let's discuss other matters, shall we?" She said while sitting down, a complete shift in her mood. "I still have a team working on Spider-Man's true identity. The tip you gave us - the fact that he knew your son - has sped things up immensely, thank you for that," she said, gratefully. "Happy to be of service," he replied sliding his hands into his pockets.

"When it comes to Elise, let me handle her. I'll see what the issue is. We're getting closer Norman. I get Y/n, and you get Spider-Man. We just need to remain patient," she sighed, clasping her hands together.

"Patient. Patience for that Spider-Shit is what got my boy killed. We can never be too cautious, Rachel. Keep me up to speed on every knew update," he commanded walking out of her office. Watching him leave, Rachel squinted her eyes in annoyance. As he left the office, he saw Elise. They made eye contact for a split second, before Norman scoffed condescendingly, continuing his trek out of the building.

Elise stuck her tongue out in retaliation. When he was out of sight, she rolled her eyes before walking into Rachel's office. "What a piece of work, am I right? I don't know why you insist on working with him," Elise joked, trying to alleviate the tenseness in the room. "He may be a piece of work but atleast I know I can trust his competency," Rachel replied.

"Are you calling me stupid?"

"I don't know, am I?" She continued, standing up. She weaved around her desk and began walking towards Elise, stopping in front of her and crossing her arms. "Can I trust you, Elise?" The younger woman scoffed before replying, "Why are you talking like that? Like I'm some stranger you don't know?"

"This task is not for the faint of heart. When you lashed out at Peter Parker you lost control of the situation, and put us in a dangerous spot. How can I trust you won't let this happen again?" Rachel asked. Elise pondered the question herself, wondering how she forgot herself so easily. "I apologise, mother. It won't happen again," she replied.

"It better not," she started. "Don't let Norman Osborn be the one to prove me wrong," Rachel continued, walking over to her desk. "Because of your fumble, we have to accelerate our plan." Elise looked towards her mother skeptially. "Meaning?"

"Meaning we have to enact phase 3. You have a week. Whatever you wanna do before then, you'd better get it done. Then the city is going up," Explained the older woman. "A week?! That's all you're giving me? I thought phase 3 was a last resort!" Elise complained. "It was. But you've forced my hand. Who knows who that Peter boy could have told regarding your true intentions. If this information gets to Spider-Man somehow, our entire operation is ruined."

"Spider-Man would only know that some random girl isn't as nice as she seems, which is 90% of the human race. He'd have no idea about you or the plan."

"Correct, but he'd have another piece of the puzzle, at this rate, he'd figure us all out. We can't take any chances. We have to flesh him out now. Say your goodbyes." She replied. Rachel grabbed a phone and began clicking a sequence of numbers against the phone pad, probably to tell whoever had to be told that phase 3 was being enacted.

Elise groaned, storming out of the office.

On the other side of the city, Spider-Man and Y/n were chilling on another rooftop, as usual, dangling their feet off the edge and digging into some tasty burritos...
