"...So. D'ya tell 'em?"

"...yeah."

"Well what'd they say?"

"...I don't know. You retook control before they could say anything.'

"So it didn't work?!"

You stayed silent. You dared not jinx yourself by spelling your fate aloud. Your reflection scoffed, taking a seat opposite where you sat criss-crossed. "So what no-" it's speech abruptly stopped, prompting you to look up, wondering what the problem was. "Agh...my head..." it murmured, massaging its fingers into its temple. "What's wrong?" Your reflection looked up at you confused. "You're telling me you don't hear that?"

"Hear what?" you asked. It let out a pained groan before covering its ears. "That high pitched ringing! Agh my head is killing me!" Its body slumped onto the ground as it gripped its head between two hands. Coherent words failed to make it out of its mouth, frustration prompting it to let out a string of curse words instead. "W-what do I do?! What's wrong?!" you panicked, shifting your position from sitting criss crossed to kneeling next to your anguished reflection.

Simply trying to spit out a few words felt impossible in that moment. It wriggled and writhed across the floor. "What the..." you murmured, not intending for it to hear. "What the? What the hell do you mean 'what the'?!" it cried, its voice charged with pained rage. "Your body..." you looked down towards your kneeling legs, "My body...uh...we're sort of...fading," you continued. "What?! Why the hell doesn't it hurt for you?!" it complained.

You inspected your hands, watching as they become more translucent. "I think...it worked. I think we're returning back to normal," you replied, attempting to explain your disappearing figures. "So you get to fade away like a pixi while I'm stuck in agnozing pain?" it groaned. "Strange. Must be something to do with being better and worse halves," you concluded. "Don't worry, this isn't the end. We'll still be here. This isn't the end-"

"Oh don't be so dramatic you weirdo. ...I'll see you on the other side."

"Heh. Sorry... See you on the other side."

It took a moment or two for your vision to adjust, but eventually it did. The first thing you saw was the chestnut hue of Peter's eyes. They stared at you with concern and worry. "Y/n! Are you okay?!" Peter cried. You quickly realised you were on the ground, and he was holding you in his arms. "I...I'm fine. I think. Why am I on the floor, wasn't I just in that chair," you inquired, sitting up. "Yeah you were," Peter started, "After your uh...what was it, worse half?" He paused to confirm and you nodded your head.

"After your worse half took over again, I uh...well I confessed something. And then you started saying your head hurted. It got worse and worse and you flailed onto the ground. Then you passed out for maybe 5 minutes and then...well here we are," he explained to you. Your eyes widened as you recalled what he had said to you. Peter noticed the shift in your demeanor. "Y/n..." he began, but before he could finish, you interrupted him.

"You're Spider-Man?!?!"

His face contorted, expressing his tension and awkwardness. "That's me," he sighed. "You?! You, Peter Parker is Spider-Man? Spider-Man is you?!" Peter was in just as much shock as you were, both of you were unable to believe this was happening right now. "I don't believe you."

He blinked, caught off guard. "You dont believe me?!"

"I do not believe you," you repeated standing up while he followed suit. "You want me to prove it then?" You crossed your arms and looked at him skeptically. He let out another hefty sigh and walked to the middle of the kitchen. The next thing you knew Peter was hanging from the ceiling, the only thing keeping him attached were the tips of his fingers. "This enough proof for you?" he asked, but expecting a reply was pointless. You had to pick your jaw off the floor first.

"I-... But that's not-... how'd you just-" you couldn't seem to stick to a single sentence. He dropped down from the ceiling, somehow thinking that would make things easier for you. You grabbed an empty fruit basket off the table and threw it at him. He manage to block it with his arm but didn't dodge it completely. "What the hell?" He yelled in surprise. "Spider-Man would have caught that bowl," you declared. "Spider-Man's spidey-sense doesn't work around people he trusts...and/or fruit baskets."

You looked at him confused. "Wait...you still trust me? After...what just happened?" you muttered, avoiding eye contact. "As far as I'm concerned, that was Elise making those threats, not you. But I do have a huge urge to say, 'I told you so' for some reason," he replied, flashing you a cheeky smirk at the end. "I fully deserve that. I should have listened to you. It was just hard for me to believe, I really like her. Well...liked," you corrected yourself.

"Hypnotising me and splitting up my mind is kind of a turn off."

"I'd assume so!" he laughed. "Oh shit! Speaking of which. You're... Spider-Man...apparently, still feels weird calling you that. Anyway, if Spider-Man is standing right here, where did you send Elise?" you wondered. "...I...don't completely remember actually. I think it was some random area on the coast."

"...Do you think she's coming back?"

"I don't doubt it. We should get out of here,"

"What? Seriously? You wanna run away from one girl with some stupid mind control powers? That's not the Spidey I know," you challenged, crossing your arms. "I'm worried about Aunt May, I can't protect both of you," he defended.

"I can protect myself, mom."

"Right, that's why Elise was so easily able to brain wash you. Because you can protect yourself."

"I didn't know what to look out for! Now I do. I know how to handle myself," you countered. You noticed how Peter's jaw was clenched, and realised he didn't know if he could trust you to take care of yourself. "Fine. But it's not a good idea to let Elise come to us."

You stared at him skeptically. "Meaning?"

"Meaning, we should go to her,"
