Gon recently got back in contact with his friends from Queens. They started up a group chat and have been texting nearly every day, making their way around the three hour time difference.

Catching up with each of them, in the group chat and individually, has been a whirl.

Knuckle won an early admission into UCDavis and would be starting up next fall. On top of spending the summer with Gon, he'd be staying an extra week in town before he had to head to Davis, which was a huge plus for the both of them.

Zushi's doing surprisingly great for someone who spent his sophomore year in and out of mental hospitals. He's planning on pursuing a career in digital art and 2D animation, and has been using baking to calm his nerves. Gon was thrilled with Zushi's progress and promise and even more thrilled to see him with his new, grown out hair.

Ikalgo's already got many baseball scouts checking him out and keeping in contact with him and has at least one scholarship offer.

And Retz. Wow, Retz is doing great. She cut her hair short, started dabbling into makeup and had a complete wardrobe reset. Her eyes look even more blue in her instagram pictures and apparently, she's got a knack for singing. Out of everyone's glow ups, hers has to be the most prominent and awe-striking, second to maybe Zushi. And that's just a maybe.
