narae sat in the empty student council room, deep in thought. if someone walked in right now, chances are they'd be mildly concerned, wondering why she was staring at the same spot for so long without blinking or moving an inch.
her friends would probably interrogate her and try to get something out of the poor girl. and if they really did stumble upon her and try, the answer given would be filled with anger and resent to a certain someone.
thinking about it, haechan liking her could be a horrible thing, and only not just because she didn't like him in general. although that did play a huge factor in the negative aspect of this idea, there was something much worse that made narae's stomach uneasy to think about.
mark. one of haechan's closest friends and the boy that just so happened to be the only one in this entire school to get the girl's heart racing just with a simple hello. if only he knew the affect he had on her....she doubted he would allow his best friend to go and purposely find unrequited love if he had any clue about the feelings she harbored toward him. a privilege that he wasn't even aware of.
or maybe he was.
maybe he didn't like her one bit, and maybe their friendship in and out of school was only a ploy to get information on her for haechan, so he could somehow trick her to fall in love, something crazy like that. or he did like her and kept the respect for his friends feelings. there were endless possibilities and narae was to nervous to just straight up ask.
whatever it was, if sooyun was right, her seemingly perfect life being screwed up all led back that stupid brunette who could just never keep it in his pants.
narae finally blinked, sitting back and allowing her muscles to relax. she was getting to worked up over this, there were other more productive things she could be doing. there was an entire list- being head of practically everything wasn't easy, more of a reason why she couldn't be thinking about something like this right now.
love was so stupid to waste her time over when she had work to do.
she took a sip of her water, lazily glancing at her notebook sprawled out on the table. it was scribbled with ideas, a jumble of whatever her brain spewed out. late after school yesterday, she and a few other student council members were discussing ways they wanted to celebrate the upcoming jinju lantern festival. a fellow member had made it clear it was something important to him, and the girl wanted to take that into consideration.
they'd agreed to meet up in the library before the school day ended, which was soon. neither were shy to staying after school so it didn't matter if she was a bit late, however she felt no particular enjoyment in overthinking and was ready as ever to go and meet up. with a quick stretch, narae grabbed her bag off the floor and exited the room.
with more hopefulness than before, the girl skipped down happily to her destination. maybe she could turn this day around after all.
