"narae, hi!" a bright and bubbly boy called out, running forward with his arms open. the girl gladly accepted the hug, squeezing tightly around his waist. he patted the top of her head before letting go, a smile plastered on both of their faces.

"hey jaem," she laughed at his excitement, setting her bag down near a table set snugly in the corner. she pulled out her notebook and two pens, taking a seat and patting the floor next to her. as much as she'd like to, there was no time to waste saying hello when they had so much to plan. "sit. we have alot to do."

she couldn't miss the small sigh from the younger boy. "don't complain, this was your idea. you know very well that i could've done this on my own."

"yeah whatever..." he grumbled, "it didn't strike me how difficult planning was until i thought about it going home yesterday. but if it's with you, i'll be fine."

narae sent a quick grin his way before getting back into her work mode. unlike her, jaemin was a bit more relaxed- he still got things done, just not as quickly. she still enjoyed being with and working with him, however long it took. it was like hanging out with him as usual, just being productive instead of raging at video games together.

from his perspective, her work ethic and motivation was incredible. he'd been in student council much longer than she had, the school his entire life, but never had he seen someone take control so fast. jaemin by no means was complaining, by that time they were already close friends. she'd known and become close with practically everyone, with the exception of one boy, that is.

silence passed between the two for so long, getting to the point where one of them was about to crack. they were the perfect friends in a way that he'd get tired of staying still and she'd just allow it. she'd allow him to do almost anything.

"babe."

"don't call me that."

"oh yeah? why not?"

"because i'll beat your ass, jaemin."

"you sure about that?"

"you wanna have a go, huh?" narae challenged, smacking the back of his head. "you're so stupid, do your work."

jaemin huffed, glancing down at his watch. "it's been an hour! everyone's out of school by now, please?"

"we can go home after you read to me what you thought of." she stated, looking down at his paper which looked suspiciously like it was only filled with scribbles.

"so i was thinking..."

"go on,"

"yeah i was thinking..."

narae rolled her eyes in annoyance. "of nothing, right? we'll pick this up another day, i've already gotten far enough."

"sooooo.... we're going home now!" jaemin laughed, swiping up his notebook and shoving it into his bag, watching as narae did the same. she let out a deep sigh just so he could know she was "upset" with him. that sure never lasted long.

"i have to grab a few things from my office, come back with me."

jaemin complied, swiftly exiting the library alongside his friend. he was only an inch or two taller then her, so walking around they looked like a power duo- they took the attention everywhere they went. although, there really was no one in the building to see them at the moment.

their footsteps echoed in perfect rhythm throughout the hall, in sync all the way until they stopped in front of the student council door. narae turned over to look at jaemin, then back at the door. "need anything? if not, go back to your car, i'll meet you there. i still gotta clean up"

"wow," he laughed, "don't think i'm capable of helping you?"

"i know you're not," narae groaned, leaning against the unopened door. "remember last year cleaning up after homecoming? you popped all the left over confetti poppers. shocker, your favorite here had to clean that up."

"okay but wait," jaemin raised his hands in defense, quickly pocketing them after seeing the stern look he was getting. "fine, just hurry up. the boys want to play basketball with us today."

"i won't be long,"

the two waved two eachother as jaemin walked down the front doors. her hand stuck on the handle, narae watched to make sure he got out safely. once she was satisfied, the girl entered the room, the warmth of the heat quickly hitting her. now that she was alone-

"finally you're here. took you long enough."
