narae was awoken way earlier than she expected to the loud, blaring ringtone on renjun's phone. the two had both been startled, trying to pull their sweaty bodies apart, failing miserably at the attempt to figure out whose hands were whose as they reached to pick up the call. at this point, their ears were ringing hearing the melody over and over again, both fumbling the phone which was still stuck in the blankets.

when they finally found it, the two winced at the sudden brightness, squeezing their eyes tight before opening them back up and examining the caller name. narae groaned out loud, muttering an annoyed, "what the fuck...it's 5 am..."

"donghyuck, i'm going to fucking kill you for waking me up.." renjun picked up the call, his morning voice deeper than usual, a slight rasp accompanying it. "what do you want?"

a small laugh came from the other line at the empty threat, "you love me jun. it's for a good reason though, i swear!"

"tell me that reason before i hang up and go back to bed."

"i found this really cool cafe i want to try! please come with me, i know you'll love it."

"donghyuck," renjun rubbed his temple with his free hand, "it's friday. i have to go into school earlier today, i'll be late if i travel somewhere."

"okay? isn't narae with you?"

at the sound of her name, the girls eyes widened in panic. with look of desperation on her face, she brought her hands up to motion 'no', mouthing the word over and over again at the same time. the boy himself just watched her and stayed silent for a few seconds before letting out a small laugh. "you're both so stupid, is that really all you wanted? next time you want to see narae, call her, not me dumbass."

and with that, he hung up the phone. turning over with a small 'hmph' he looked up at his best friend with a goofy grin. she glared down at him, displeased with the fact he was making her hang out with haechan one on one. "stop looking at me like that."

"if you really want to get closer to him, this might be good! i promise he's fun."

while he did have a point in saying that, it didn't matter to narae. she wasn't trying to be his best friend, she just need to get along with him well enough to get her crush, and vice versa. he was nice to everyone but her. hanging out with someone like him might turn out to be a disaster.

"come on," renjun sat up, throwing his legs off the side of the bed and hopping off. "we can get ready together, you can borrow my clothes."

---

"i can't believe you're actually making me do this.." narae whined, eyes on the building ahead of her as the two pulled into the lot. "it's like 30 minutes away from school! im gonna have to drive back that entire time with him!"

"stop whining, you'll be alright," renjun assured, slowly coming to a stop in one of the few empty parking spots. "you look fine, and he'll be nice to you. i promise!"

"i don't know..." she looked out the window uneasily, quickly spotting the boy waiting outside, leaning against the brick wall. he was in another leather jacket- when wasn't he? she grabbed her bag and opened the door slowly, glancing back at her friend and giving a weak smile. "i'll see you at school."

the two parted ways, renjun driving off as she made her way toward the building. haechan was distracted by his phone, not realizing she was there until she was right infront of him. "oh fuck- you scared me.."

"payback." she shrugged, opening the door and motioning him inside. the heat of the place warmed them both up, cheeks rosy while they looked for a place to sit. near the back, in a booth, is what haechan had chosen. it would have been a great spot if they were a couple, best friends even, but they weren't. "why did you want just me here?"

"to talk about our plan, stupid." he rolled his eyes as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, a hint of sass in his voice. "what do you want to order? i'll go get it for us."

"i don't want anything," she grumbled. haechan didn't care much to push, so he left to make his order without a second thought. narae was stubborn, she did want to order something, but trying this cool cafe with him wasn't a memory she wanted to have. maybe with mark, or sooyun. she wanted to have fun with someone she liked. not him! the world just wasn't on her side- and although the cafe was busy, she barely made it to three minutes before haechan came back, a warm drink in hand. he slipped into the other side of the booth, staring the girl down while she avoided looking into his eyes. he was to straightfoward, another thing she didn't like.

"are you gonna tell me exactly why you needed to hangout with me so badly? we have a groupchat for a reason."

"princess, a groupchat isn't very private. and i'd suggest you'd drop the questions if you want me to keep helping you."

"we're in this together, you can't just quit on me."

"exactly, which is why you should shut up and let me do the talking, hm?"
