"whats on your mind?" sooyun questioned, a pout forming as she watched her friend mindlessly work away. she knew narae for long enough to be able to tell that right now, something was definitely off. her usual hard working demeanor was instead replaced with a look of frustration. even the way she was typing seemed to have a hint of irritation.

"oh, nothing." the girl slightly glanced up, catching her friends eye for a second before looking back down at the same screen she'd be staring at for nearly an hour now. "just have alot of work, as usual."

"i know it's more than that," sooyun pushed further, hands cupping her face as she lazily caught a glimpse of what narae had been working on. "you need to take a break." she stated, closing the screen of the device.

"sooyun- what the hell! what if that didn't sa-"

"relax," she assured her, reaching out for her hand. "come on, let's just talk for a little bit. you've been so busy lately we haven't really had the chance.."

"i know," narae agreed sympathetically, a tinge of guilt as she realized how neglectful her work had been causing her to be. "all this planning for the festival has made it so hard to just take time away for myself... i guess i shouldn't have volunteered to be in charge of it, huh?"

"i think what you need is a breather from this all," sooyun gave her two cents, motioning to the scattered papers and devices around them. "why don't we go do something this weekend?"

"i can't-" narae looked back down at everything with wide eyes. "i can't afford to take another break.. i need to get this done."

"what if we go shopping together?" sooyun raised her eyebrows, a playful look on her face. "we can even get jaemin on board. you can't say no to that, right?"

narae groaned, knowing she had lost. "you're right, i can't.... i'll text everybody after school to make the plans. but for now," she said knowingly, pointing a finger at sooyun's chest, "you need to let me work."

"fine," sooyun laughed, standing up and making her way towards the door. she definitely didn't want to stay in the student council room in any longer, yelling out as she left, "still on for my house after school?"

"of course!"

"i don't get why we have to sneak around," haechan commented, bummed out as he sat sprawled out lazily on one of the many comfortable chairs around the room. narae gave him a knowing look, practically scolding him with her eyes. "i know! but-"

"exactly haechan, you know why." she rubbed her temples, feeling a bubble of stress building up. "if we want this to work, we have to be careful."

he snickered, "i still find it funny how someone who supposedly hates me so much is sneaking around with me. why am i here, anyways?"

"sooyun wants to take me shopping this weekend to keep my mind off everything with school," narae continued, "i told her i'd text the groupchat today and ask everyone, but i wanted you to know first. this could be a great opportunity to spend time with her."

"finaaaaally," haechan drawled, laughing at naraes confused expression. "i was beginning to wonder when you'd set something up for us. took you long enough."

"shut up." narae glared, face heating up in embarrassment. "i wouldn't just back out of the deal!"

"i would hope not. it took me forever to convince you."

"you're awful, haechan." the girl rolled her eyes, sitting back in relaxation. true, she had taken a little while to figure something out. but when was there ever a chance in the first place? sooyun was much less of a work-a-holic than her friend, but that didn't mean she wasn't pulling her weight as a member of student council- she was just as busy, though she was arguably much better at time management than narae was.

"you'll get used to it princess."

"...are you coming or not?"

"well," he stated, "if i had to wait this long for a chance..."

"dramatic as always.. i'll see you there, haechan."
