Gertys pov
The event center was full of Extravagant details as it was full of impeccably dressed people. I was in awe of how many people were there. I quickly glanced at our betting paper before stuffing it into my hand purse. Hazel was in the lead on the pool as Pierson made us proud by starting his evening with verbal combat

After a couple hours of listening to speeches and paying our respects to fallen soldiers there was finally a time for visiting, dancing, and such.

" I should have bet there'd be a death! look at how old that gentleman over there is" Lydia whispered into my ear

"Ssshhhh oh my goodness what if someone hears you being so rude?" I whispered back stifling a giggle before noticing Paul was sitting a few tables away staring directly at Lydia like she was a desired treasure.

While I stared him down Lydia noticed and look. Locking eyes with Paul she mouthed what? And he quickly looked away, Aiello put his arm around Lydia and kissed her cheek before momentarily locking eyes with Paul

I gave a quick glance to Judy who definitely already noticed and was looking at them as a vulture would look at a dying animal

"Buzz of you vultures" Lydia teased

"We've been here for almost two hours, there's been dancing and laughter, how is Hazel's bet the only one to come to fruition?" Judy whined

"She's a mother and mothers know everything" I explained smiling at Hazel

"I'm just surprised something like that would actually occur at such a posh event like this" Hazel said astonished
"I'm not" the boys managed in unison causing a small wave of laughter at our table.

"Really?"  I asked taking my rightful turn in astonishment

"Daniel's here was the only one to break through with him, now that was surprising" Miriam teased looking across the way at a grumpy but still socializing Pierson she had a different look this time, instead of a shy uneasy look she had a happy and content gleam when she looked at him making me wonder if there was anything she had forgotten to mention to me about the two of them

"Broken high heel two o'clock" she added again as we all quickly glanced for our own personal verification

"Is no one going to spill their drink " Lydia whined

"So let me get this straight you ladies made a bet, and that's really the only thing tying you here?" Aiello asked lighting a cigarette as he waited for a reply

"You wouldnt understand it" I laughed

"I'm their brother and I dont understand it" Mickey admitted

"Sshhhh no more talking Mi amore, we should dance while I'm still light on my feet" Luciana begged " I'll even hang out with your sisters while you play Poker," she added

"You say it like we're boring" I teased

"At your home yes you are" she replied back

"Why dont we just hang out at the club? No one will be there! We can even sit at the bar and serve ourselves" I realized out loud

"That's fine but I should tell you And I hope you don't mind but i invited Claude, Paul, and Pierson to our poker game" Mickey sheepishly said

"I dont mi- wait a second... no are-?" Lydia started to ask as Mickey slowly nodded

"Winona and Rosemary would be coming" Mickey said

"Make them take their dates home first please please please just do it please" Lydia pleaded
