First the first time in forever, I am going through my phone. The salon is busy for Chasity and Bethany as they each have a client and I am waiting on my next appointment to come in.

I get to have some fun with coloring today. Which is exciting the last color I done was for the little older lady that wanted a random blue streak added to her hair.

My thumb swipes as I go through pictures I have taken over the time, the last one being last night with the girls during the time at my apartment. Waking up this morning gave us all a laugh, with how we had legs crossed and the sheets were so tangled we had to do a puzzle just to get out. Not helping the fact Bethany had to use the bathroom made us laugh even harder.

Zack had let me know he was back at his house and it seems to have eased me even further this morning. Just to know he is safe and now hopefully sleeping. Chasity got a laugh when I told them what I sent to Zack about eating, showering and sleeping but I was dead serious.

Little chatter is filling to my ears and I welcome it as nothing beats when clients are happy and talking. Makes the day go by faster when clients talk and not be all sullen in our styling chairs. Well okay, only thing I get sullen about and feel for them is during a haircut is because they got chewing gum stuck in and didn't want a cut.

Chiming of the bells has me putting my phone down and standing with a smile.

"Hello! How are you?" I look at my client.

"Great and ready for something new."

"Let's get you in the chair and you tell me what your looking for."

I grab the drape and get it put around her while pulling her hair through my fingers gently. Just getting a feel for if she needs any special things done to help repair it but her hair is perfect and so soft.

"So we have been adding in some medium brown with red to help keep the grays out. You want to go with something new though?"

"Yeah, I was thinking lets mix it up and have some highlights added this time instead of the all over dye."

"Okay, we can easily do that. Your roots are not even showing still. So what are you thinking for add in color to get some dimension going?" I nod and automatically think of a few things.

"What about something with blonde?"

Perfect!

"We can definitely do that and it would give you the summer glow going on too. I can do some bold lights and it will give you that nice mix and noticeable change for something new. Not to mention the up keep will be super easy." I smile.

"Let's do it."

I walk to the back and pick out the number blonde that we need to go in order to acheive the desire nice light color blonde that will blend in best. The only thing is just trying to guess and see how much chemical to mix up while not being to much or not enough.

With it mixed up I place the bowl to the side and grab a good bit of foils along with the hair comb and pick I need. Holding it all in my hands to make one trip to my station. Thankfully, I pulled out my bench from the hide-a-way spot each station has. Really does help to just pull the handle and it comes right out and can be cleaned and stored for none use.

"Are you ready to get going?" I smile as my client nods with a smile of her own.

Idle chat goes by as I section, comb, and weave through for strands that I apply the dye to and put on the foil.

"Okay, we will let this sit and process. I'll check it periodically because this color blonde does take different for each person."

"I will be here and trying to patiently wait for results."

"Once it is sat and at the right color we will rinse and then I have to put some toner on it for just a few minutes then after we dry it out." I rub my hands together in happiness.

While her hair processes, I take calls and make more appointments on the schedule along with some light cleaning.

We are close to closing time and my mind is wondering should I call Zack or just go to my apartment. The last thing I want to do is wake him when he is getting the sleep he needs. for now I am here because I have my client still, with her hair taking longer to accept the dye than most.

One more check shows her hair is finally ready to be rinsed.

"It is ready. Let's get you over to the wash bowl." I smile and she claps her hands.

I get the water to a temperature she is comfortable with and pull the foils out. One of the wonders of foil many come off at once. Rinsing takes no time and then I apply the toner, watching for it to turn the nice soft coloration it needs to be and not a pop in your face color.

Bethany and Chasity are cleaning up from their last clients for the day. When the bells chime, I don't even look up since the girls are free and I'm rinsing out the toner.

"Did some color mess up?" Zack's voice comes from behind me.

I jump and the hose sprays a little outside of the wash bowl.

"Zack!" I get a little above regular talking, making everyone laugh.

"Yes, Precious?" Zack tries to stop laughing but his eyes tell me he is enjoying this with the gleam they have.

"I was rinsing the toner out, so no the color will be just perfect. Stick around while I blow it out and you shall see." I huff some and get my heart rate down.

Note to self. Never just think the girls will get it because they will be just as sneaky as Zack.

Zack coughs and moves a little funny. Oh! He took that the wrong way, again.

"You better get used to salon talk and not the gutter mind." I snicker.

My clients hair is finished in no time after the quick blow dry. I smile as her fingers comb though and she shakes it around some. We get her checked out and another happy client out the door.

"Would you go to dinner with me?" Zack holds a hand out and I take it with ease, smiling.

"Of course. Just let me lock up first."

What shall the dinner hold?

Was it good to see Athena back in the groove of things she enjoys doing?
