Four days, that is how long I have been on edge and watching everything. The slightest sound makes me jump.
My reaction to seeing the text message was not good and honestly I am a little embrassed. Chasity and Bethany both have been wonderful, they stayed with me that night it happened and the night after. The last two nights I have been alone, having told them they could go home and thanking them.
We have been incredibly busy at the salon, since the clients are coming in from the day we had the rock thrown through. Yesterday we all even stayed open later just to finish up the colors we were doing.
Finally, though today our schedules are lighter and back to normal. I don't even come in at the shop unless I know one of the girls will be here at the same time before I unlock.
It is just all things to stay safe. I will definitely make sure their checks have a bonus each. Thank you just doesn't seem good enough.
Oddly, enough to all of us the texts messages have stopped. I have only got one call from the number since that day, but no voicemail was left.
"Hey, so I got some time since my next client isn't in until after lunch. We don't currently have any walk ins." Chasity smiles.
"That is good. Is there any products you may be running low on?" I ask her, coming out of the dangerous place that is in my head.
"I don't think so. I still have over half of everything."
I nod.
"Do you want anything for lunch? Bethany and I were thinking of just putting in for a deliver."
"That sounds good. Let me know the place you guys are ordering from and I will let you know." I smile to her.
Chasity gets on her phone.
"Oh, the insurance company did get back with me on the window and it is being installed at lunch hour. I will be adding your name to the sign under ours." I forgot to tell them before now.
Chasity tears up some. "Thank you so much!"
I give her a hug.
"That is what friends are for and I hope your going to keep working here. Your pay will go up to where you get a percentage for each client you tend too."
"A little before my ninety days." Chasity laughs.
"Girl, I am not even worried about that with you after all the help you have gave. You are the long lost friend to make us the three amigos." I laugh some.
"Now this is what I like to hear. Laughing, it has been to long." Bethany comes up and gives us both a hug.
I love all the hugs they make things so much better.
"Oh, before I forget and hear it from Zack again. This is his number, he wants you to have it for if anything else comes up and you get something." Chasity hands over a piece of paper.
I take the paper and don't miss the smirk she has showing.
"Tonight, I was thinking we all go out and celebrate having Chasity on board with us. We haven't done that yet." Bethany smiles.
"Sounds perfect to me. Where shall we go?" I ask looking over.
"Any place you like to go Chasity?"
"I don't go out much and I don't really drink." Chasity thinks over.
"How about the fancy restaurant up the street?" I ask.
Both agree and right after more clients walk in. Bethany and Chasity stay busy until lunch and I had only one.
The guy came and put in the new window a little earlier than lunch, but that is more than fine with me. It gave me time to get the vinyl made out and placed on the window.
We all finish out the day and get things cleaned up.
"So, I told bubby where we will be tonight." Chasity prances up to me.
"That is good. Is he going to join us?" My mind goes over how good his hand felt on my shoulder.
Warm floods me all the way through with that thought.
"I am not sure, but that way he is kept in the loop too."
We get our bags and walk out of the salon. When I lock up, we move back and look at the window.
"That looks much better than before anyways." We all laugh and stand in a group to get a large selfie against the glass.
Arm in arm we walk to the restaurant. This is just what I needed, my two friends with laughter and free time.
Before long, we have our seats and are looking over the menu.
"Got room for one more?" A hear Zack's deep voice.
"Of course bubby! It is good to see you out and doing things, not just eating take out." Chasity smiles, while Bethany and I nod.
He takes a seat next to me with where I am across from the others.
"The snickering doesn't have to stop on my account." Zack chuckles.
Him being this close to me, it sends vibrations through me that I am liking.
"They were going on about some of the new styles. I told Bethany I want to do something different with my hair."
"Don't tell me your cutting it all off." Zack looks at me with wide eyes.
"Oh no. I don't want it very short. When I want new things Bethany gets to cut my hair for something different."
"Girlie, I have been doing that for a couple of years now. Chasity here actually has a good idea that we can do for you." Bethany smiles with a hint of mischief there.
"We plan to do it tomorrow. There is barely any clients on the schedule so we will have the time." Chasity smirks.
I clap my hands because it does help just to look new sometimes.
We put in our order for food when the waitress comes back by and Zack orders a regular coke beverage.
"Hey, sweet plum." Dason speaks up to the side.
"Hey! I thought you were working tonight?" Bethany jumps up and kisses his cheek.
"No, they didn't need any extra hands." Dason smiles and greets us all.
Looks like our night of celebrating for Chasity just got to be a larger gathering. I don't mind Zack being here at all. It is just Dason being here, over the time of living in this town and the dating he isn't around much due to work.
