TW: some secret keeping

Roman picked up his daughter, Jasmine, and carried her to her bed. He set her down and carefully tucked her in, covering her in her Monsters Inc. themed blankets. He sat down on the edge of her bed.
"What do you want your bedtime story to be about tonight, princess?" he asked
"Can you tell me about how you met Daddy?" Jasmine asked
Roman chuckled. Even back when it happened, he had thought about how great this story would be to tell his kids some day. "Of course I can tell you that story"
Roman took a breath, trying to put himself back in the mindset of 'High School Roman'.
"Well... when I was fifteen years old, my school did this musical called Matilda" Roman began "And I played a character named Rudolpho. Rudolpho is this man who's a very good dancer, so I had to dance a lot"
Jasmine laughed a little bit. She couldn't picture any of her fathers dancing, and if she did, it would probably be her Pops, not her Papa.
"But I was onstage, doing my big dance, and my pants ripped. So when I went off stage after my dance, I had to find someone on the costume crew to help me," Roman explained "And the only costume person I could find was this super tall, kinda scary looking guy named Virgil"
"That's Daddy's name!" Jasmine said
"Yeah! So I asked him for help fixing my pants, and he said he could," Roman continued "But then I remembered that I had to go back onstage soon, and I didn't have any spare pants, so I had to stand there backstage in my underwear waiting for your Daddy to sew the rip in my pants as fast as he could"
"Why didn't he fix them while you were still wearing them?" Jasmine asked
"Because he had to use a sharp needle to fix them, and if he accidentally pricked me, it would've hurt a lot" Roman conveniently left out the detail that the rip had been in the crotch of the pants. "But he ended up getting them fixed just in time, and everything was okay. And then after that, we became friends, and then we started dating, and then we got a little bit older, and then we adopted you!"
"Now can you tell me about how you met Dad?" Jasmine asked
"Okay, but this will be the last story for tonight. You need to get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow, Princess" Roman said
"There wasn't really as much of a story for when I met your dad" Roman began "But... when I was fifteen, I went to this theatre camp. It was a vocal camp, so it was just a full week of singing. I got there, and I didn't know anybody
"Then, this kid came up to me. He was thirteen years old, and really short. He told me that his name was Logan, and he really liked my hair"
"But Papa... your hair is so boring" Jasmine said. Roman laughed.
"Now it is, but back then I had pink hair. It was super cool" Roman said "Anyways, we became super close friends that week. But after that, we didn't really get to talk to each other... until the next Summer
"We both came to camp the next Summer, and during lunch the first day, I came up to him, with your Daddy and Pops with me, and said we hang out the year before, and he immediately knew exactly who I was. So we hung out a bunch more, and after camp that year, we made sure to actually keep in touch. So then eventually, he told me and your Daddy that he had crushes on us, and we told him we did too, so then he started dating us too"
"That's so cool!" Jasmine said "Now can you tell me how you met Pops?"
"How about we save that story for tomorrow night?" Roman suggested "Remember, we have a big day tomorrow"
"You keep saying that, but you won't tell me why it's a big day" Jasmine complained
"It's a surprise" Roman gently reminded "And the sooner you go to sleep, the sooner you can find out what it is!"
Jasmine thought for a minute "Okay. Goodnight, Papa"
"Goodnight, Princess. Sleep well. I love you" Roman said, giving his daughter a kiss on the forehead "Now get some rest"
Roman stood up and walked out of the room, gingerly closing the door behind him.
"She's getting some sleep?" Virgil asked
"Yeah" Roman whispered back, wanting to make sure he didn't wake her
"Everything's ready, right?" Patton asked
"Of course, Pat" Logan responded
"I'm so excited we get to take our little girl to Disney!" Roman said
"Ya know, sometimes I think this trip is more for you than her" Virgil teased
