A new dragon sport?

I woke up to Toothless in my face.

"Woah! Hey bud, what are you doing?" I asked. He gargled back at me and silently roared.

"I slept in didn't I!" I said jumping up realising I had, I got dressed and ran downstairs.

"Sorry mom gotta fly!" I shouted running past.

I jumped on Toothless and he leaped into the air even before I clipped my leg in, we started to fall as I struggled to put my leg in.

"God oh mighty!" I shouted, I then locked his tail and he flew normally, I clicked my leg into place and unlocked his tail.

"Toothless" I said. He chuckled back.

We flew down to the great hall to meet bucket,mulch,the gang,and some of the better dragon riders.

"So" I said as I landed but remained on Toothless' back, everyone else was stood in front of their dragons.

"Well Hiccup, as you know Thawfest is in a few months and we need a new dragon sport" said Mulch.

"I see" I said. "Any ideas" I said looking at the gang in particular.

"Water surfing!" Said Astrid.

"The path of knowledge?" Said Fishlegs.

"Master of destruction!" Shouted the twins head butting.

"Blaster master!" Shouted Snotlout.

"Danger dodge" said Eret.

"These all sound incredible!" I said. "I wish we could do all of them!"

"That's perfect Hiccup! We could extend Thawfest this year!" Said Mulch.

"Yeah!" Shouted villagers and the gang.

"Well that settles it" I said. "All follow me to a more private area" I said taking off on Toothless and they all followed.

We landed on a distant island that was the home for a family of Monstrous Nightmares, as we landed I watched them as their pupils became slits, I took of my helmet and their eyes instantly became wide and playful as they recognised me.

"Hey guys" I said to the dragons. "Do you mind if we stay here for a while?" I asked and they purred and sat down. "I'll take that as a yes then" I said getting off of Toothless.

"Explain your sports" I said nodding to Astrid.

"Well, water surfing" she said. "You fly down to the ocean and you dragons feet skim the water you have to dodge obstacles without your dragons feet leaving the water, and whoever can do this the longest gets one point" she said.

"Ok that sound like a great idea, now Fishlegs" I said.

"Well the path of knowledge requires you to know your stuff about dragons, your given a series of questions and if you get them right you go a step further but get them wrong you miss a turn whoever gets to the end quickest wins that section, but at the end you have to befriend a wild dragon using only your knowledge and whoever gets through the whole thing the quickest wins a point" he said.

"That seems interesting for sure" I said. "Do I even dare to ask the twins" I said.

"Well the master of destruction...you have to destroy the island of Berk and whoever destroys the most wins" said tuff.

"Ummm I was thinking maybe destroying maybe old fishing boats?" I said. Everyone else mumbling things like "yeah the fishing boats not Berk".

"Oh" said Ruff.

"We still get to destroy stuff right?" They both asked.

"Yes" I said.

"Score!" They said head butting.

"Ok then...Snotlout?"

"Well, blaster master you have huge targets and whoever gets the more accurate shots wins, the winner being obviously me" he said.

"Ok Snotlout" I said. "Eret?" I said.

"Well, Danger Dodge is for the most professional riders who's dragons listen to their riders but the riders also listen to their riders" he said.

"I guess that's Snotlout out of this event" sniggered Tuffnut.

"Hey!" Shouted Snotlout.

"Hookfang Listens to me!" He shouted.

"Hookfang Flame up!" He shouted yet again. Hookfang just stayed there his head resting on the ground.

"Hookfang! Flame up!" She shouted at him. He still refuses to love and Snotlout went to kick him but Hookfang grabbed his leg and held him upside down he was gently holding his leg with his mouth covered in teeth.

"Let me go you stupid dragon!" He shouted in fury as Hookfang's head got higher and higher.

"I can see where this is going" said Astrid standing beside me.

"Hookfang let go!" He shouted and instantly Hookfang let go and Snotlout fell from a high distance.

"Told you"she said as everyone grimaced.

"See he listens to me" Snotlout said face first on the floor.

"Ok, continue Eret" I said.

"Well as I said only the most professional dragon riders can participate,we go through a maze at cliffs and rocks are falling from both sides covered in monstrous nightmare fire, you have to decide when to fly and when to hold back we will obviously have Monstrous Nightmares ready to help out and save you from the fire if anything goes wrong" he said.

"That seems dangerous but a really good idea" I said.

"But of course we do need a race Hiccup and that is for the chief to decide" said Bucket.

"Geez I'm gonna need some time to think" I said.
