ACT XVIII: THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS

              You slept in peace, having no dreams, but it was better that way, no more overthinking it. Apparently MK and the crew made a mess when they were here, so Red's parents COULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES see you. Red had gotten you leftovers from breakfast, you were HALFWAY through your food but no, you couldn't get a break, and the castle shook, and you ended up in a coughing fit. Red had helped you and pat your back and comforted you as you uncontrollably shook, the earthquake reminding you of LBD. You knew Red wouldn't judge you if you cried or breakdown, but you didn't want to. Not over a silly earthquake. You took deep breaths that were guided by the only thing you trusted now, Red. You slowly stood up and cleaned the room from the shaking.

          Red was definitely curious, but she kept that to themself, not wanting to push you. You appreciated it and talked a little, getting to know more about the other while cleaning up. The earthquake happened again, more intense, and the ground broke into blue ice. No no no no no no no this couldn't be happening. You were hyperventilating, panicking and you turned to see Red still trying to stand, failing. You saw blue ice come towards them. You broke into panic and your mind was clouded with her voice telling you to get MK and the King. You jumped up and took Red out of reach from the blue ice. Without speaking you both knew what was happening. Red had run out, you following, you couldn't lose anything important to you, even if it was a small thing.

         You turned corner after corner, some were completely covered, others had none. But no matter what the ice seemed to be following you. You stopped almost running into Red, and looked only to be met with PIF and DBK being taken and sealed away by LBD's ice. PIF was already covered in ice, still in both of their pajamas. DBK was slowly struggling and the ice consumed him, up to his neck already. His eyes were rid with panic as he spoke for the last time, "RED SON! GET OU-" and then he was covered, his panicked face frozen in place. You were scared, but more scared when Red stood still, frozen like their father. Soon, the ice was catching up and Red was on her knees, crying silently and shaking like a leaf.

       The ice was close. You couldn't bear to see Red in pain, so you closed your eyes. And as soon as you did you ran out dragging Red by the hand. They were still crying and wiped the infinite tears from their face with his other hand. You made it outside and were greeted with an all too familiar blue sky, with the bone lady floating in the very center. You were both panicking, but you were definitely the more prepared of the pair. So you stood forward and attacked. You might not make it back, but Red will. You threw a punch at her, her dodging easily. She looked at you disappointedly, and returned the favor knocking you to the ground. Red ran over to you but you did what you thought best. "GET OUT OF HERE! I have unfinished business with her." you didn't want Red to leave. They seemed shocked, tears were still streaming and fire burning in his hair.

        You knew they couldn't handle another loss, no matter how many times someone has lost one another whether it be small or big, it hurts. You understood that better than anyone else. You were suddenly trapped in an ice cage. You groaned at the sudden pressure. Red screamed and immediately tried to melt it with his fire, failing. Tears flooded and she didn't wipe them anymore. You knew the desperation to cling onto someone. You were doing it to Red. you looked at them and mustered up the best smile you could and talked in a comforting yet hurt voice, "it's okay Red, i need you to do something for me okay?" they nodded "I need you to leave okay? I know it's a lot to ask, b-but i need you to-to take care of yours-self." you started crying and soon the faucet was turned. Red knew what this meant but tried to calm down. The ice wore of and you stood up, a limp in your arm from it being impaled by ice

       And with one last turn you spoke softly, "run." and attacked the bone lady again. This time you used your powers to attack, becoming faster and faster, you weren't nearly as powerful as LBD, but you were buying time. You swung your leg at her but it was caught by chains, the blue burning came back as if it never left. Soon you were being crushed by the chains. You looked back, your eyes glowing f/c and body burning. You saw Red there and your adrenaline somehow spiked. You were bleeding everywhere and the only thing keeping you alive was the adrenaline. You yelled as much as you could, "RUN RUN RUN RUN!" you screamed at Red but was still in place.

         You screamed at the burning you felt, being crushed and squished into nothing. You were shouting apologies and anything you could get out at the moment you did. The chains grew tighter and tears blurred your vision, you screamed one last time at Red, then you were squeezed so hard you couldn't breath. Red with tears flooding their face turned to flame and disappeared. "If you don't behave I'll have to resort to more extreme measures" and with those words from the bone lady, your world went blotchy then black.

      But you didn't care, you protected someone important to you, that was all that matters
