Prompt: What will die with me when I die?
(Word Count: 148 Words)In one hand, he held the Shadow Key, the other, a dark broadsword. The Shadow Prince. He had fought, slaughtered, and conquered, all to get here. I was the only one left.
He lunged. I shot a barrage of arrows. He gave a blood-curdling shriek as several hit him, but continued, unfaltering. Using my Saxe and throwing knife, I deflected his heavy blows.
I began to weaken, and he struck, his deathly face grinning as my weapons fell to the ground. Slitting his soulless eyes, he plunged his Blade into me. Cold, dark agony engulfed me. I fell. My time was running out. I could only watch as he strode past and faced the Lock of Destiny, the item under my protection. He turned the Shadow Key in the Lock. As he opened it, shadow poured forth. The world turned grey.
As I died, so did the light.
