SARAH

It's the night before our big move to Maine and I am super anxious. This past week has been filled with goodbyes from our family and friends. The last goodbye is to the negative entity living in our house.

My parents decided we were going to have pizza for dinner tonight. We sat on the floor eating the pizza when I saw a dark shadow appear from the kitchen floor where the basement lies beneath.

I try not to look at the shadow keeping my gaze on the wall. My brother notices this and scoots closer to me. The shadow starts sliding its way over to the living room, and my body tenses.

"You can't hurt us," Soran says. The shadow continues its way over to us. I keep my head down and close my eyes. "Leave us alone." The shadow disappears, but I can still feel its energy in the room.

I have lost my appetite. I bring my unfinished pizza and paper plate to the kitchen where the trash can is. I throw it away and look back into the living room. I can't see the shadow, but I can feel it staring at me from the darken hallway.

"Do not follow me." I start to walk away when I hear a knock on the wall. I ignore it and keep walking. I make my way outside to the front porch. The negative entity knows we are leaving, it is connected to me. I have an attachment as ghost experts like to say.

I think the entity has always here, but with my curse, it is frightened of me. It wants to take my power, to thrive off of fear and it does not like that I can see, feel, and hear it.

The moment I step outside and I instantly in a better mood. I am not so tense. I sit in one of the chairs and stare out into the land in front of me. The sunset is beautiful. Orange, pink, and yellow mix together to make the perfect masterpiece.

Soran appears, "aren't you cold out here?" I notice his breath in the air and the goosebumps on my skin.

"Not really, it was making me hot," I tell him. He stares blankly for a second, "this move is going to be a good change, Sarah." I nod and close my eyes. I just can't wait for it to be over. All of the late nights, possessions, harmful arguments, and craziness will be gone.

I get up from the chair, brush off my pants and walk inside. Soran and I say good night to our parents and get ready for bed. We have to be up and five and leave by seven tomorrow morning. We plan on getting coffee from our local coffee shop, one last time.

I head into Soran's room. I lay on the makeshift bed we will both be sleeping on tonight. He turns off the light and we lay in bed together.

"Good night, Sarah." He rolls over on his side and I do the same. "Good night, Soran."

Darkness is all I can see. My blood is boiling, but my goosebumps say otherwise. Laying on my back with my eyes wide open I can hear the whispers of the beast in the corner.

"Dirty whore,"

"Kill them."

"Burn it all to the ground."

I want it to stop, but the words keep repeating. I don't know how long I have been like this, it is torture. I try to move my arm to wake Soran, but I can't move.I try to speak, but my voice is making hoarse straining sounds. I feel my skin begin to burn.

Please, stop! I beg out, it continues.

"You will never get rid of me."

"I am part of you, Sarah."

"Dirty Whore."

My eyes move to the end of the blanket, it is moving up. Soran please wake up. Make it stop. I feel it burning, my legs are burning!!
