SARAH
"Stop this," I know this is fake. This is all a game the entity is playing. "This can't be real," I slam my hand against the wall.
It is fucking with me, I know it is. "Wake me up," the illusion of Jenna staring at me with a solum look.
"This is real, Sarah," It plays at me.
I shake my head, grab my hair at the roots and tug on them. I scream in frustration, I played right into the trap. "Carter is okay, he needs to be okay." I walk over to him and stand by his side, "I need to wake up."
Carter's arms are nicely placed under the blankets, but his head and chest are clearly bandaged. Tubes and wires connect to his arms, chest, and face to monitor his health.
It all looks so real, even my parents silently speaking to each other like they are trying to have a private conversation. His facial features look darken and sculptured like he hasn't been eating.
Rounding my hand to his face, "he was fine when I left him."
"Sarah, he has been in here since a few days after you got here," the illusion says to me. I give it a look, "no, this is just an illusion you are making me see."
"Listen to me," the illusion doesn't seem to let up. "I am Jenna, Carter's mom. You are Sarah, his girlfriend and this is very real." Entities know everything, they communicate by mind control. This is exactly what it wants me to think and endure.
"Do you know where you are, right now?" I won't play into this, "you can fuck off."
She sighs, "you are in a coma."
"When you had the seizure a few weeks ago, the entity was the cause of it." It explains, "it knew where and how to take you down."
"You have known all of this from the very beginning," I say. "You have been there when I was born, where I grew up, and definitely when I moved here."
"No, that wasn't me, I am Jenna." I shake my head in frustration, "just let me go back to my room."
Suddenly two doctors come through the door and my parents get up from their seats. Hopeful looks are spotted and my dad shakes both of the doctors' hands.
"Do you know what is going on with him?" The doctor shakes his head, "Unfortunately no, however, we are intrigued because the same condition he is in, your daughter is in as well."
My mother gasps, "he was in a car accident and she had a seizure."
"How is it that they are in the same condition?" She asks them.
"That is what we are trying to figure out," one of the doctors places his hands on Carter and moves them around.
"Honestly, there has only been one other case like this," he states. "A few months ago, a boy came in hospitalized and was in a coma for three months and when he woke up, he couldn't remember a thing of how he got here and what had happened."
James. They are talking about James.
At the same time as the doctors tell my parents this, they look at each other. They nod to each other in understanding, "was the boy's name, James Haris?"
The doctors nod their heads, "it was a mystery and it still is." The entity did this, I know that. Why is it making me sit through this? Is this its monologue or something?
"I needed you to see this, so I can tell you what happened that night," the illusion floats over to me.
"Sarah, you are in a coma," I back myself up to the wall to get away from it.
