SARAH
"How are you feeling, Sarah?" Mr.need-your-rest asks me for the millionth time.
I roll my eyes, "fine."
He really needs to stop asking me that. I've been awake from the coma for four days now and I feel great.
There have been no nightmares, flashbacks, or any confusion from what happened. My stats and health look normal, so I don't get the big deal.
"Today, we will do some more testing with your brain and body functions. If the tests come back normal, we will have you sent home tomorrow morning." He sets the white clipboard down and washes his hands. Finally, some good news around here. Normally, he provides me with test after test after test.
"I understand you are tired and that you want to go home. I also understand that your parents have certain beliefs of health care and what they want for you," he starts.
The priest has come in every morning and did his usual check up on me and did the whole prayer and blessing thing. I know that my parents don't really know what is going on, but they are just trying to give me space.
I will eventually tell them what is going on, but I need time first. I need time to get everything straight.
"There was a study conducted a few years ago down in Texas of a little boy in a coma. He eventually came out of it after having a seizure and his test all came back normal." The doctor walks over to me, "they did a test of each individual brain sector and found a neuron that was disconnected from the rest."
"It was like there was someone else living in their brain and controlling their thoughts and bodily movements, I want to try that test on you." He finishes, "Some of these results are connected to Borderline Personality Disorder."
"I do not think you have that disorder, but I do think we should at least give it a try." I know where this is going.
I know that case, I read about it online. The boy grew up in an old mansion that held confederate soldiers during the civil war. The mansion was doomed for witchcraft back in the late 1800s as well. The boy was possessed.
They are going to find some neuron activity and who knows what is going to happen. The entity is not going to like that.
"I am going to set up a monitor here," he points to the end of the bed.
"Then I will have these wires connected to your head and chest, this way I can have full access to the results as they happen." He moves closer to the point in each spot they will go.
"I will be back in about an hour to set everything up with the nurses," he nods goodbye and walks out the door.
He leaves, leaving me here alone with the entity in the corner watching me. Well, I don't think it is the entity. It doesn't seem nice though. It may be someone from the hospital who was negatively impacted here. I have tried speaking with them, but I have gotten nothing in return. It just stares at me all day and night.
Speaking of communicating, I have tried to reach out to Carter and Jenna, but have not received anything. Carter is still in a coma.
My parents explained what happened to him. He wrapped his truck around a tree going 90 down West Lake on the highway. I have a feeling that is not exactly what happened to him. When I was still in the coma, I could hear him calling out my name. I could feel his presence in his hospital room. Jenna and I both could, I think his soul is damaged. He is still here, but can't exactly get to me. If only he could figure it out, I know Jenna taught me, she can teach him.
