Chapter 15

SARAH

We both made it into the garage without waking our parents. We decided to take our mom's car because we both knew she wouldn't needed it tomorrow, well today. We listened to the GPS tell us where to go without music in the background. Silently, Soran drove and we watched each stop light turn green as we passed.

There were no further texts or calls from any of the Haris', but I did get a text from Carter. He asked me if I was okay and if I wanted to talk. He feels bad for me and want to cheer me up. I think it is nice of him to want to talk to me even after the whole spirit thing at the party. I mean if I saw something like that I wouldn't want to talk to the person. He basically saw me and Soran in a battle with a demon.

Since we are going on a wild goose chase to find James, Soran and I left a little note for our parents. We decided it was a good idea to at least tell our parents something, so they don't freak out.

"Soran and I are going into to town to do some site seeing. We are okay and have our phones if you need to contact us. We don't know when we will be back. Love you," I wrote it out on a piece of notebook paper and left it on the counter for them to see.

We are about one hour in on our little road trip. We have about three more hours to go until we get there. Before we left I grabbed , my head phones, notebook, and flashlight. James is probably in the stage of confusion right now and I want to be able to help him to the best of my ability.

This is craziest thing that I have done. Searching for a missing teen who is possessed. Sure, I have been possessed and my family has been controlled by a negative entity, but this is something totally different.

This is something Lorraine and Ed Warren would do. They are icons in my opinion. Their career has helped so many people and their experiments opened an entire world of answers and questions about the paranormal. Lorraine was a psychic medium who could see the dead and have visions of the future. At one point in one of her visions she saw a family slaughtered, so she went to their house and expelled a "demon" from their family. She was injured badly and was hospitalized.

A lot of people don't think it is a big deal thinking "god" is greater and in more power that the negative things, but its not. The negative things are walking around hurting people, while god is a no where to be seen. One thing that I believe in, is that God is not the hero or power, but the hope in the greater in humanity. Humans want to share faith and strength through something that they think will benefit them. The more there is, the more it happens. You could say the same about the devil. The more people give in, the more power it has. I think that is what could have happened with James.

"Hey, we were supposed to take the exit right there." I reference to the exit we just passed.

"I know, but I need to stop for gas, I saw a sign there is a gas station two miles down from here," he says. I look at the gas gage and the arrow says E and the light is on.

"We should have gotten gas before we left, we can't stop anywhere, we need to hurry." I sigh in frustration. We need to get there fast if we want to help James.

I've noticed Soran has been taking his time while driving, I know it is slippery and there are probably cops around, but he could speed up a bit. It won't kill us. He pulls the car over and turns into a gas station. "If you need to pee or want anything, this is the time to do it." He gets out of the car and goes into pay with cash.

I follow him and pick out some cashews and a coffee. I bring it to the register and tell him I am going the the bathroom. There is only one bathroom in the store, I walk in, close the door, and lock it before I stand in front of the mirror.
