SARAH
I am feeling better now. Now, I am not feeling hot or as if I am going to vomit, I feel much better than before. I am not hot or feeling like I am going to vomit which is a good thing. I did some laundry earlier and I unpacked some more. My family was supposed to move into the new house, but somethings are taking longer than expected. That is what Mr.Johnson told my dad.
In the meantime we are staying here, rent free. Carter texted me again making sure of my answer. I changed my mind and decided to go to the party. I did text James to tell him I was getting a ride from Carter and would see him there.
I am not sure what I am going to wear or how I am going to look. I have never been to a party before, I am only fifteen. My brother, Soran, has been to a couple low key parties back home.
Since this town is small and there is barely anyone at school, I don't think there will be many people going. Probably just some extended friends of Carter's.
I asked my mom if I could hangout with Carter tonight and she said yes right away. I know she wants me to make friends and start my life here, so she was excited when I asked her.
Since we will be in the old cabin I throw on some dark wash jeans and a light blue sweater. I acquire a butterfly necklace and a two silver rings. I plug in my straightener and wait until it is hot, I am just doing a touch up since my hair is pretty straight already. After that, I put on some mascara and add high lighter. Right now my favorite perfume is called Ray Love, it reminds me of the ocean breeze. It smells like summer right before it rains with a tint of rose petals. I spray some on my wrist and neck.
Carter said he would pick me up at seven and it is six now. I am eating some popcorn as a snack, I am assuming there will be food there. Soran left right away after he got back from the store.
Earlier on my walk back with James, he told me Soran would be helping out by getting some supplies for tonight and setting up. I get a weird feeling about that. Soran has always been on the quiet side, but he seems pretty open here. The fact that the entity is gone and we have more space t breathe could have something to do with it. To his knowledge, the entity is gone and has not followed us here.
A slight breeze runs across my feet and stops on my left foot. I look down and see a small white mass. It doesn't feel human, but doesn't feel negative either. I forget about it and move on.
My phone vibrates from my pocket.
Carter
Omw!
I go to the closet in the front walk way and grab my black converse. I lace them up and patiently wait for Carter. I see his headlights come on to the drive and I step out.
"Hey," I greet him when I get into his car.
"Hey, how have you been?" he asks.
"Okay, I guess." I fasten my seat belt, "How about you?"
"Better now that I know you're coming." I smile at him and he laughs.
He is wearing dark blue jeans with a black sweatshirt and old tennis shoes. I am now feeling a little self conscious. My mother always said to dress to impress, but I feel a little over done.
We listen to music softly on the radio as we drive to the cabin. My mind wanders to the diner as we pass it.
The family was so delighted when they finally understood me and they knew their loved one was there. It felt different in a good way. I have never really had good experience like that before. Besides Carter's mom, it has always been bad. The entity had an unbelievable hold on me and my family that I never expected anything good out of my curse. From being thrown into walls and having scratches all over my body it wasn't a good time.
