For the past couple of days, the weather has been absolute shit. It even snowed, but that only lasted for a day. Otherwise, the wind and rain were nonstop. Until today, which meant the party wanted to get as much vitamin D as possible.
"Dustin, hurry up, or we're leaving without you!" Lucas screamed up the stairs before he joined the others outside.
"I'M COMING," Dustin replied, annoyed with their impatience.
The group of teenagers had filled up multiple coolers and were ready for a day on the water. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, and the UV index was going to be high.
"I can already feel my skin getting tanner," El expressed while soaking up the sun.
As usual, the group was waiting on the boat for Dustin. No one could figure out what took that boy so long to get ready. However, it didn't matter where they were going or what they were doing Dustin was always the straggler.
While they were waiting, everyone applied their sunscreen. Mike made sure he triple-applied SPF 50 so he didn't end up looking like a tomato.
"Mike, I think you've done enough," Will laughed at him.
"There's no such thing as not enough sunscreen. Plus, I know if I get burnt, Max will be slapping my sunburn for the rest of the week."
"Damnright," Max shouted with a mischievous smile on her face.
"I am forever grateful you can't tell when I'm sunburnt for that exact reason," Lucas grinned at his girlfriend. She responded with an eye roll.
The sun was starting to heat everyone, so the t-shirts and shorts that covered up their swimsuits came off. Lucas's eyes did not waver from Max as she took off her shirt, revealing the bikini underneath.
"Hey, Stalker, instead of staring, why don't you make yourself useful and put sunscreen on my back," She threw him a bottle of sunscreen and pulled her hair up. Lucas was more than happy to assist his girlfriend. "You know you suck at being discreet, right?"
"It's kind of hard to be," He whispered in her ear while rubbing the sunscreen onto her back. Max hated the fact that she was blushing right now.
"I'm here! I'm here," Dustin ran onto the boat out of breath.
"About time," Mike remarked.
It was around 11 am when they left the dock. Not that time mattered. They have weeks full of hours to spend doing whatever they wanted.
The girls wanted to tan, so they decided to put down the anchor once they got to the middle of the lake. Will came up with the brilliant idea of bringing a deck of cards. Once Dustin found out, he set up the table and was ready to beat the boys at every game. The sun was out, music was playing, and everyone was happy and laughing.
Time went by, and Max and El couldn't stand tanning anymore. It was too boring.
"Can we play never have I ever?" El suggested. Everyone was a little shocked that out of everyone in the group, El wanted to play.
"UH YEAH." Dustin was always stoked to learn dirt about his friends. They may have known each other since they were kids but every one of them kept secrets.
"How about we make this a little more interesting..." Max said, grabbing the shot glasses and tequila out of the cooler.
"I can't. I have to drive us home."
"Woah, Mike is being responsible," Dustin teased.
"Hey, I'm a responsible person."
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that," Everyone laughed.
"Okay, here are the rules. If someone says something you have done, you have to take a shot unless you are Mike. The second and last rule is you have to tell the truth, and if you get called out for lying, then you have to take two shots. Whoever has taken the most shots by the end of this has to jump off the dock naked when they're sober."
Nods and grins were exchanged as they agreed on the rules
"Alright, I'll start. Never have I ever stolen something from a store," Mike asked. Dustin, El, Max, and Will all took shots. "Care to elaborate?" They all shook their heads no and went on with the game.
"Never have I ever gone skinny dipping..." El took another shot, and Mike took a sip of his sprite.
"Ew," Will remarked in disgust.
"El, you never told me that!" Max's eyes were wide with surprise. El just shrugged her shoulders in response.
"Never have I ever sent a sext..." To everyone's surprise, everyone took a shot. Looks of suspicion were shot at each other around the table.
"Umm, never have I ever tried weed..." Max was shocked she was the only one who drank.
"You guys have never smoked?"
"No," They all responded at once.
"Good thing I brought some with me. You guys can try it if you want. It's better than drinking, I mean, in my opinion." Everyone but Mike agreed to try it another day.
"Next, never have I ever showered with someone else..." No one drank.
"I'm hoping that'll change tonight," Lucas commented. Max hit him across the chest, telling him to shut up.
"Me too," Mike gave him a fist bump. El just rolled her eyes and looked at Max.
"I'm uncomfortable," Will added.
"Yeah, same here. Next question, never have I ever had a crush on a teacher..." No one drank, but that wasn't a surprise. The ugliest teachers taught at Hawkins.
"Never have I ever had a crush on someone's sibling..." Dustin took a shot. It was obvious Dustin was in love with Nancy in the 8th grade.
Question after question, each of the teenagers drank more. The bottle of tequila was empty, so the game was over.
Will and Lucas were the soberest, and Dustin drank the most. It was time to head back to the house, and Mike knew it was going to be tough getting everyone inside safely.
"Alright, let's go inside and get you guys coffee and something to eat," Mike suggested.
Somehow Mike got stuck helping Dustin inside. He had to hold onto the curly-headed boy so he wouldn't fall into the water.
"Awww Mikey, you want to hold my hand?" Dustin exclaimed. " I love you, Mike, just not in that way." When Dustin said that, his face contorted in disgust. Mike rolled his eyes and encouraged him to keep walking until they got inside.
By the end of the night, a grocery store run was needed. There wasn't a crumb of food left in the house. Which will be fun for the hangovers everyone will have in the morning.
I wanted to write more, but I am getting tired, so if there are mistakes, that's why lol. I might post again tomorrow but don't hold me to that. Have a great and safe weekend!
I hate talking about politics, but don't even get me started on Roe v. Wade being overturned. I'm so pissed. I understand both political parties in a way, but this is something I am very passionate about. Like, who cares what others do with their body? It isn't affecting you, so mind your business. Why is the USA going back in time? I should not have to be scared that my rights as a woman will be taken away.
Anyways, goodnight, and thanks for reading.
