The next day Max thought about who she wanted on her team. Of course, she would pick El, but she still got to pick one more. Her options were Will, Dustin, and Mike. Mike was out of the question; there's no way Max wanted to work with him.

Recently, it has taken everything in her not to pick a fight with him. Max made a mental list full of the pros and cons for both Will and Dustin.

Yes, she loved Will, but he can be considerate sometimes. Once she narrowed it down, Max decided Dustin would be the better teammate in this case.

While picking out her teammates was crucial, she doesn't get to work with them for another five days. Max had to start thinking about the pranks she was going to do. She didn't want to do anything like the basic plastic wrap on the toilet. That type of stuff is way too simple. Max wanted to be more creative than that.

Since the rule is one prank a day, Max must come up with 5 different pranks until she can do them with El and Dustin.

Day 1

Lucas has decided on his first prank. He wanted to start light and then progressively make the pranks worse.  His first thought was to do flour in her hairdryer, but that was too basic. So, he took a similar approach and put corn starch instead. When corn starch mixes with water, the mixture is a little different than flour.

Max doesn't normally shower in the morning, so he didn't expect her to use the hairdryer until they came back from the boat. However, this morning was different. She got in the shower right away. Unfortunately for Max, Lucas had already put this prank together.

Max got up a little earlier on purpose. She wanted to get ready for the day before Lucas got a chance to mess with her. However, that didn't stop her from checking her shampoo. While Max heavily doubted Lucas would put hair remover in her shampoo, she wasn't going to risk it.

It was safe to say Max was a little cautious going about her morning routine, but she wasn't careful enough. A huge grin spread across Lucas's face when he heard the hairdryer turn on.

"Damn it!" He heard her yell from the bathroom.

Lucas snatched the polaroid camera from the bedside table and opened the bathroom door. Due to the amount of corn starch covering Max's face, she didn't realize he got a picture of her. It wasn't until he burst out laughing that she noticed he was in the room.

"That was a good one, real creative." The sarcasm in her voice was very evident.

"I mean, I gotcha." Lucas pointed out the obvious. Max began to wipe the corn starch off of her face and hair.

"Just you wait," she smirked and turned on the shower again to rinse off.

While in the shower for the second time, Max thought of an idea. It won't affect her because she isn't going to shower again today. However, Lucas will tonight.

Once Max got dressed, she went into the kitchen and grabbed two things. Chicken bouillon cubes and blue jello powder mix. Max ran back into the bathroom and locked the door.

Quietly, she unscrewed the showerhead and placed 2 chicken bouillon cubes inside. Then, she grabbed Lucas's towel and covered it with blue jello powder. Luckily, the towels were a dark navy, so he wouldn't be able to tell. Her only hope was that the blue powder would show up on his skin when he dried off.

Max was honestly relieved she could go throughout the rest of her day without worrying about being pranked. On the other hand, she was counting down the minutes until Lucas showered.

When Max got downstairs, everyone was teasing Lucas about how "on edge" he looked. Dustin suggested going on the boat so Lucas would feel more at ease. Once they got out there, Lucas was anything but relieved. He always had Max in his line of vision.

"Will you calm down," She laughed at him.

"Not until I get pranked."

"Then you have a long day ahead of you, Stalker."

Lucas narrowed his eyes at her and scooted over. "I'm gonna need you to sit next to me so I can keep an eye on you."

"I'm sure that's why!" El said, laughing at Lucas. He shot her a glance, and Max playfully hit him across the chest as she sat down next to him.

No one was too hungry for dinner, so they stayed on the boat to watch the sunset. Without the sun, it got pretty chilly. So, everyone was covered in towels snuggling up close next to each other. The sky melted into deep shades of purple and pink until only darkness was left.

Mike turned the boat lights on and said, "Lucas, what if the whole prank is just you worrying about being pranked."

Bursts of laughter erupted from the teens as Lucas's eyes went wide.

"Max...?"

"I'm not denying anything, but I'm also not confirming anything."

A few minutes passed, and they were back at the house. The teenagers went their separate ways into their rooms for the night.

Max jumped on the bed and turned on the tv to watch a movie. She was trying not to look suspicious as Lucas made his way into the bathroom to shower.

It was going to take a second for him to realize the prank. Once the shower was off, and the bathroom door opened, Max knew he realized. Lucas walked out of the bathroom with his towel around his waist. Max's hand flew to her mouth when she saw his somewhat blue-tinted skin. She reached out fast and took a picture of him with the polaroid camera.

"First of all, being blue is kinda cool. I'm like a Smurf" At this point, Max was dying of laughter. "Second, who the fuck is cooking chicken right now?"

Max ignored his question and yelled out to her best friend. "EL!" Not even five seconds later, all of them are in the doorway.

"HE'S BLUE!"

"Why does it smell like chicken in here?" Dustin asked.

"I put those chicken flavor cube things in the showerhead," Max laughs her words out.

"I'M THE ONE THAT SMELLS LIKE CHICKEN!" Lucas went into the bathroom and unscrewed the showerhead. There he found the two cubes and chucked them into the trash.

"Now that was a good prank, Max." Dustin applauded her.

"It was, wasn't it."

The night ended with Lucas taking a second shower and using a new towel.

It was almost midnight by the time he climbed into bed. Lucas thought Max was already asleep.

"I can still smell the chicken," She laughed, confirming she was awake.

"I scrubbed so hard." They lay next to each other face to face.

"At least the blue came off." Max smiled causing one to appear on the boy next to her.

"You just wait Madmax. I'm going to up my game for tomorrow."

"I'm sure you will." Max gave him a peck on the lips, and they both fell asleep for the night.
